The audio quality from the speaker itself is fantastic! Set-up was really easy, as expected. Apple even managed to do put in the cool display panel at the top of the unit. HomePod Mini plays really well if you live in an Apple world and that's about it unless your non-Apple device supports AirPlay 2. If you don't have an Apple device, don't bother looking at this one. I knocked a star off of my review for something that isn't the speaker's fault. I have Google Assistant devices scattered throughout the house and they work beautifully... there are a few things that Google still doesn't handle well, but I'd say that 90% of the time, the Google Assistant works perfectly, from doing quick searches to providing step-by-step instructions while cooking. I even had the Cortana Assistants in a couple rooms and it was perfectly functional 90% of the time as well. Siri on the otherhand is nowhere close to being as useful... try to do a web search, it will send it to your phone (unless I'm missing something), Siri doesn't appear to step by step instructions for recipes. There are a few other things that don't work quite the way they should... again, that's not a problem with the speaker and more how Siri works... it's not much better on the phone either... so nothing new.

While I am not the one who uses it (as it was a gift for my sister), what i do know from what she tells me is that it was a great purchase, as the ease of listening is great between her apple devices. the only downside is that it does need the wire to work, pardon my ignorance but before purchasing the homepod, there wasn’t much research done on our part regarding the use of the device, as well as needing internet connection to work well, we thought it was just an easy to use bluetooth device. all in all, it is a good device yes, but one that is stuck within the apple ecosystem once more.

Love the HomePod mini. I got it as a gift for my mom. Easy to use and sound is great for its size! I think it’s pretty loud no complaints on volume. Bluetooth is connectivity is smooth and Siri is pretty responsive. I just apple would allow connectivity to Spotify.

[Employee of bestbuy] I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the first-generation HomePod, and let me tell you, it was an absolute auditory delight! The sound quality was mind-blowing, immersing me in a world of rich, vibrant music like never before. Siri's voice recognition was spot-on, effortlessly following my every command. The sleek design added a touch of elegance to my living space, making it a centerpiece that garnered compliments from all who entered. If you're in search of a smart speaker that truly raises the bar, look no further than the HomePod. It's a five-star experience that will leave you craving more.

One of the best purchases I’ve made at Best Buy. The sound quality is exceptional, and I highly recommend using it throughout your home. Additionally, you’ll receive a discount if you purchase it specifically at Best Buy.

My 4 year old Bluetooth speaker finally died and needed a replacement. Since I'm already in the Apple ecosystem, decided I might as well buy an apple product so I can take speakerphone calls, podcasts, and music while sleeping. One of my issues (which is most likely exclusive to me) is you have to plug it in (which is good and bad, since no battery to die like my previous), but this also means I cannot take this to my restroom/shower, because I do not have any power outlets there, they are right outside. So I can't use this there, fine. My other issue which really bothers me - is it's not compatible with Youtube! Youtube will not stream to this, which means I cannot listen to music there. That's *very* annoying. Also not compatible - business VoIP apps, so I cannot take speaker phone calls on my business line, can only take calls on my personal cell. Now the good: Sounds great! Calls/music/podcast using the Apple versions all work pretty well and I don't have to worry about charging it or batteries running out in the middle of the night. Small annoyances: moving it around (especially if you wind up lifting it from the top) - turns on music that isn't playing on your phone, but the device itself. Sometimes my AppleTV will try to play to it instead of my airpods, which *can* be useful if done on purpose. These are minor glitches that are partially user error and partially design error. It appears I'll need a couple so I can use it the way I used to use my previous BT speaker, which I may buy the next version when it comes out.

Great speakers! I bought two of them and use them in my bedroom in Stereo. Set up is a breeze, and my Apple TV pocked them up easily. Only downfall, is that if you listen to music at night, make sure you disconnect them from your Apple TV as it will cause issues.

Apple never ceases to amaze me! Wish I had had this years ago, very very easy to set up, and works perfectly! 65 years old, been a musician all my life, and for the past 30 years running my own studio, I know what sounds good and what doesn't sound good, and I am totally blown away at how good the sound is coming from this little ball, absolutely amazing sound quality, and I can control every light, thermostat, pretty much everything in the house with my voice. Just bought another one to go upstairs, very highly recommend!

Incredible sound from such a small device. Looks nice and is super easy to set up. Siri works well, seems to hear and understand what your saying even with music playing. We are using it in our kitchen and are thinking of purchasing another for other rooms.

Overall, a good product. The sound is noticeably better than what I’ve experienced of the less expensive Google and Alexa speakers. The design is great, as to be expected with Apple products. However, also to be expected with some Apple products, I feel the price is a little high for what you get. Sometimes Siri can be a little air-headed, but that’s not a problem with this product so much as with Siri, of course. On the other side of the tech fence, Amazon and Google seem to have the edge regarding the competence of their assistants. For example, I never had a problem with my Google Home speaker detecting which device I was talking to—an occasional problem with the Home Pod Mini. If you’re married to the Apple ecosystem, this is what I would recommend, hands down, although it may be one of the few choices you have for what it does. If you don’t care about Apple’s ecosystem, I might recommend trying one of the other ones until Apple catches up. As for me, I’m into Apple, so this is the best choice for me and a pleasant one overall.

I have the main (larger) homepod and picked one of these up to put out in the garage. For the most part it works great. It's a true extension of the larger homepod. I especially like the intercom feature. The only complaint I have is it goes "wonky" every once in a while and requires a power cycle. What I mean by wonky is, if I say something like "Hey Siri, play some music" she will come back with garbled trash. I can't even understand her so I need to reset the mini. This actually happens multiple times a week and it gets frustrating because I use it to turn on and off features of my home. I am impressed with the sound, music sounds great. It's small enough to not be noticed but looks cool when you do notice it. It's possible I have a defective unit but I don't know because this is the only mini I own and this is the one I am doing the review on. Besides that one issue, everything else is great.

Sounds decent, but electronics are glitchy. Sometimes starts playing when I don’t want it to (and when I’m two floors away). Takes too long to pair with iPhone 13 Pro when I do want it to play. Sometimes decides it won’t play YouTube audio stream, sometimes OK with YouTube audio. That seems to be a known issue, and there is a work around, but why is this even a problem on a mature product from a quality company? I wish it could just be used as a simple Bluetooth speaker. I’m going to try an Echo Dot. I don’t need or want any of the smart home features, just a decent compact speaker.

So far so good. It’s perfect for my kitchen. Sound is good, and loud enough for me in the kitchen. It connected to my smart outlets, and switches with ease. It was easy to set up my kitchen with my TP link Tapo. I did try it in my shop and compared it to my JBL Charge 5 I have out there. It’s no where near loud enough for that, at full volume it’s about half as loud as the Charge 5. I was hoping that I could use one out there as connecting and playing music is easier than the Charge 5. I’m not sure if I want to spend the money to see if the regular one might do better for that.

I bought 2. They sound great as a stereo pair for my TV. I wish I could use them as a regular Bluetooth speaker. That’s one thing the Beats Pill has over the HomePod family. Either way, a great product — just don’t expect it to be as smart as the other smart speakers out there. These are purely intended for people who want something that sounds good and integrates well with their ecosystem. Intercom feature is nice. Siri needs to get smarter.

Love the HomePod mini. We have 5 of them, in different rooms. Love that it also tells temperature and humidity in that room. In addition to playing music, I ask Siri daily "hey what is the temperature outside" and she's quick to let me know. We also use this (2 in tandem, actually) as the external speakers for our main TV, gives a surround sound experience.
