Use it as a stereo pair with my Apple TV 4K. Extremely easy setup in my TV room and works great. Doubles as an extra speaker for whole-house sound with my other homepods.

returned. too much configuration needed for certain apps and devices to properly work. some aren't supported at all.

Bought two and they sound great. Much louder than I expected. Open kitchen / living room setting and it’s more than enough power that we never need it above 75%. I still prefer one HomePod but for the price these are fantastic.

Awesome sound and easy setup. I got two and I would really prefer it. One on each side of the tv. In a room that’s about 30 by 25 foot. Sounds great. Best Buy shipped it faster the Apple could do I ordered through Best Buy instead.

these bad boys fill up a room before hitting 100% volume. even at 100%, there is no distortion and it sounds clear. in stereo pair, these are even better. affordable speaker for what it offers.

Small in size but excellent volume. The sound quality is excellent. Bought this as a smart speaker, but the additional bonus of being a speaker/mic for iphone calls is great!

Homepod mini is great, but the sound quality is more meant for nightstand or deskspace, not a large open space like the spot we had planned, we had high hopes for it and returned it due to it just being to small for our space. Really a great system though, we did replace it for the regular HomePod.

I love mines! I have two around the house and the “find my” and intercom features are a godsend! The sound quality is nice, lacks bass in a larger room BUT the clarity makes up for it! In a smaller room the bass thumps.

I have the bigger version of the HomePods and did not expect much out of the little brother. However I was pleasantly surprised with the sound and just how compact this speaker is. Great value for the price !!!

Considering the size, this is a powerful little speaker! I have a few original homepods which are amazing sound system. The HomePod Mini adds more high quality sound to additional rooms at affordable pricing! Highly recommend!!!

This device sets up very easy. Make sure you are on the latest version of iOS before you begin. The sound quality is by far better than others. Looks great as well not a plastic speaker. With air play I can use with any app, Pandora, Spotify and Apple TV. Siri seems to also respond well. The only ask I have for apple is to have Siri start my Apple TV if I ask for a movie. If you read other reviews that are dated prior to 2/9 I would ask you to report them as they were done prior to the release date. These are just haters who wish android had quality products like the HomePod. Again, great product for anyone who is an avid apple user.

Good size for our kitchen and doesn't take up much counterspace. Sleek design blends in. Sound quality is good although we mostly use it for background music. Overall happy with purchase aside from wishing the cost was a bit less.

Great sound quality for the size of this HomePod. Could never bring myself to buy the big one but at this price point it definitely exceeds the google home and Amazon Alexa devices. Also works seamless with my other Apple products.

I’d take this over the Original HomePod ..it’s more functional and it doesn’t take up much room. And if your in the Apple ecosystem you will definitely enjoy this. The Sound from this tiny speaking is The selling point.

I have been intrigued by this product since released, and frustrated with Apple's pricing practices and desire to be a "top tier" company by only offering high end high price products. This device always seemed a bit overpriced and unnecessary for me as I have a nice sound system connected to my TV, but I wanted something for Home Kit control. I like Apple's focus on encryption and privacy especially with the alway on always listening home controlling devices like this. I have apple Home Kit enabled devices in my house, and wanted a quick way for my pet sitter to turn them on and off when she comes in. I tried the Amazon dot last year, but found it difficult to setup and you need to have the always listening feature on. It also required setting up my already existing already working HomeKit enabled devices in the Alexa app which was hit and miss. I was waiting and hoping that Apple would release a cheaper version of this with less speaker and more control. Then Best Buy had this on holiday sale for 100 dollars off retail price. I figured it was worth a try knowing I had time to return it if it did not work. I set it up in seconds yesterday, and immediately transferred the podcast I was listening to on my phone to the speaker. I often wear headphones around the house and listen to music or podcasts throughout the day. This makes it easy to transfer what I am listening to via my phone airplay button and I can hear it clearly from anywhere in the downstairs. It sounds amazing and is so much easier to use to listen to anything on my phone. Yes you can use it without the Hey Siri feature listening. You can press and hold the center of the top panel which prompts Siri so I can turn off the "always listening" or if it does that annoying digital assistant thing where it mishears something I say that sounds vaguely like "Hey Siri" and becomes disruptive (This has not happened yet). I also like that in the Home app on my iPhone I can turn off the Home pod analytics which will not share my always on always listening recordings with Apple or anyone else. I wish the $200 price was not a promotion, but the retail price. After 1.5 days it has proven its worth and made me realize something I was overtly critical of and uninterested in is as good as I was sure it was not. I like being proven wrong. I am not sure I would pay $300 for it at full price, but if it keeps impressing me like this I might eat those words as well.

The HomePod mini has some improvements over the HomePod: it's much less expensive and it will allow you to use it as a smart speaker that will interface with your other Apple devices and apps, including other HomePod minis, Apple TV and the Apple Home app. The main drawback of the mini is that the sound is not nearly as full and complex as the original. Apple has clearly made a strategic decision to develop a consumer product that will be competitive with Amazon Echo smart speakers, and sound quality is a calculated sacrifice for market penetration. The mini allows the creation of "scenes" along with the Home app so that you can, for example, program your Apple TV to turn on and play a favorite channel when you say, "Hey Siri, Arrive Home." The mini requires some patience: not everything is intuitive and to take full advantage of this new member of the Apple ecosystem you'll have to invest some research.
