It works but be aware of rules trying to mirror certain apps to a TV. Some apps somehow recognize the connection and will block it. When it works, it’s excellent. But ease of use for 4 stars because of what I explained above.

I purchased this adapter to use with my iPad to connect to the TV when we go on travel. We recently tried it out while we were in a hotel for a few days and it worked great. Don't forget that you also need to take an HDMI cord with you in addition to this adapter if that is how you plan to use it. Highly recommend this product. It was so easy to connect. It is small and lightweight to carry with you while on the go.

5 stars for being what it says it is...a genuine Apple - Lightning Digital A/V Adapter - White. Note that it's not the new USB-C standard. We're using it to send a signal from iPhone/iPad through HDMI to our vehicle A/V system. Works as advertised. It's for a very specific purpose.
On a side note, I purchased this as an open box item through the app. They couldn't find it in store, likely a mistake in their system, and Best Buy upgraded to a new one at no additional cost. Our local store here and Best Buy in general is a place I enjoy shopping for electronics.

The Lightning to HDMI dongle just worked. You plug it in the Lightning port, then plug your HDMI cable to the dongle and the iPad screen shows up on the external screen. In my case a projector. Not going to lie the price is a little high for what it is, but it's Apple branded and I had already spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to get Bluetooth and wifi options to work and they were laggy, inconsistent and not near as good. Pay the $54 for the dongle and move on with your life. You won't be disappointed.

For the short time we didn’t have cable and internet this was a life saver. Bc mg iPad has its own service, it ment nothing that we didn’t have internet bc youtube was on full blast. Worked great. And it charged it too! ANDDDDD I didn’t have to stop my kiddos from harming one another over who got the “iPaid” (that’s what they call it lol) next! . Costly but worth its price in gold.. and nerves.. my nerves are much healthier.

Bought it to stream my Netflix, Hulu , etc. while my internet at home is down temporarily. On my 65 inch 4K, the adapter will stream at 1080p HDR from my iPhone. You must use a 2.0 hdmi cable. I tried using an old hdmi cable that I had for my old Blu ray player and the quality was terrible. This device absolutely works if your using a newer hdmi cable. No issues.

Love it. There’s not much to this product, so if you have your eye on it I think you know what you want. But let me just confirm it is as worth it as you think it will be.
I love being the gadget guy at work (management level, construction heavy civil) because one it’s fun, but two I think people appreciate it. It starts conversations, shows your teammates you are invested in your craft, and shows that you can find solutions to ‘problems’ (convenience related problems more than anything) that people didn’t realize they had.
This little device allows me to hook my phone up to the display in any conference room and present information. Whether I am missing photos on my computer for an accident investigation and I have to switch to my phone on the fly, or I am sharing my phone screen with a conference room of 40 people to domenstrate a new application that corporate expects us to use, this adapter has been there for my professional advancement.

I initially made the mistake of buying a similar aftermarket device on Amazon for half the price of this one. But it didn't work properly, so I returned it. I originaly wanted this device so I could connect my IPad to my TV in order to watch Apple TV on a larger screen. It works PERFECTLY, with no issues. In the end, it's worth paying the higher price for genuine Apple products. Only genuine Apple products will work properly with other Apple devices.

This is terrific for watching videos and doing podcasts if you can't afford a three-camera set, You can use your ipad or iPhone for the production. "Airplay" on those devices gives you full screen appreciation if you want to watch a video on your big screen.
And unlike some lightning adapters, you don't need your ipad or iPhone to have electrical support - it is simply there in case you want to charger your device and view at the same time.

It works like a charm. Apple products usually do, so I wasn’t surprised. Its nice that I can use my phone and project it onto any screen through this useful HDMI Apple product.

Just what you need if in a campground without wifi, but with an iPhone and a good phone signal, ... any video you can see on your phone(movies, sports, news, ect.) can be sent to a tv with an hdmi cable, ... a little expensive but it works great, ...

I use this to connect a cell phone or iPad to the television, car (monitors in headrests) and any other item that has an HDMI connection. My son also uses it to display his iPhone screen to his computer monitor when needed. It always works, but is pricey unless you catch it on sale.
This is actually the second adapter that I have purchased like this one. My son keeps one and I keep the other.
