Bought this specifically to be able to stream video in hotel rooms from iPhone/iPad while traveling on business. MUCH more convenient way to view Netflix or Amazon Prime movies than bringing an Apple TV!

We purchased the new Audiovox overhead dvd player with an LED screen and HDMI / MHL input. This is needed to link your tablet or iphone and play saved content or stream Netflix, or Amazon Video. Works beautifully.

The adapter has really come in handy for hotel rooms and sharing our phone screens onto a TV. The adapter also has a charging port which is fantastic.

I was worried that this device would not allow HDMI connection from our iPad to our LG OLED TV, but it works just fine. It was not clear to me from reviews whether it would work or not. It must be dependent on the release of iOS or the hardware. We have a brand new iPad, and it works great. We could have used device mirroring to have a wireless connection to our TV, but I wanted the hardwired connection to work too, since we also have a projector which accepts HDMI input.

Mainly got this to watch Direct TV thru my iphone to a TV but the jerks at DirectTV prevent this! Anyway, it's great for mirroring iphone to the TV otherwise.
