It's plug and play in the most recent iPad and displays great on any HDMI device. Four stars, instead of five, because the Apple stuff is soooo expensive.

AirPlay without WiFi/AppleTV

You get to watch everything on your TV if you don't have an AppleTV and completely rely on your phone' data. Well I have unlimited data and it is perfect for me. No WiFi required. The only problem is that it is highly priced.
