This was exactly what I was looking for and is perfect. I have a Sunday school and due to Covid and limited spacing per person we had to move to a place that did not have our regular TV and DVD player. I was able to "adapt" my class with this "adapter" allowing me to hitch my phone to my projector from home enabling me to play small faith based clips off of the internet that has been a blessing for my classroom! Great adapter!!!

I bought this so that whatever content is on my iPad can also be viewed on my TV screen. I plug one end into my iPad and then connect the other end to an HDMI cable that I connect to the TV. And just like that, I am able to bore family and friends with my vacation photo's and video's or my entire photo library that is stored on my iPad. How cool is that. I don't have Apple TV that would enable me to also cast my iPad content onto my TV so this is the next best [and cheapest] thing.

We had ordered a different one to use for our projector but when it didn’t work we called Best Buy and they suggested this one. It works for us to watch everything but Netflix on our home projector

The product seems ridiculously overpriced. It is surprising that the third party market isn't making an equivalent connector available at a much reduced price. Perhaps Apple has exclusive rights to its connectors and can therefore charge whatever it wishes.
Pricing aside the connector works perfectly.
By the way if you have a pre lightening iPad and are thinking of buying the much cheaper Apple 30-pin to lightening adapter be advised that it will not work for video.

WORKS!!!
Worked right away when I wanted to view some purchased downloaded media on a recent vacation.
Attached to a regular modern TV with an HDMI cable and was able to charge phone simultaneously. I could turn off my iPhone screen with power button without interrupting viewing on TV.
If you pause media for too long and the tv or iPhone sleeps you may have to disconnect adapter and possibly restart tv. It seemed to work best when iPhone media was cued up and ready to play before connecting to tv.
In any case I was able to make a stable strong connection with a tv quickly and without WiFi every time I needed to.

Exactly what I needed to view videos and photos from my iPhone and onto my 55” flat screen TV. Excellent tool. Easy to use with an HDMI cable and store as well.

As most apple cables, it does exactly what it says it should. It is expensive, but it works great. Allows me to show videos off of my iphone on my tv or do screen video captures. 4 stars because i think it is way overpriced, but other than that it is a great product.

Absolutely essential if you own an iPhone or iPad. Not all media supports Apple AirPlay. I opted to buy my adapter from Best Buy because I know it's genuine Apple (buying from auction websites doesn't guarantee it's Apple and most of those aftermarket adapters don't work properly- you're wasting your money).
I use my adapter most often for Keynote (Apple version of PowerPoint) presentations on large televisions.
I bought an Open Box product and it can't be distinguished from Brand New. It saved me some money.
