The device is needed if you want to push the screen on your iPad to a TV or monitor, so it is something I have to purchase. Like most Apple products, it's way overpriced compared to similar items from other makers. The item is easily damaged. I've had to buy three in the last year. I buy them for 30 people on my team, so replacing three in a year just because the wire is easily bent/broken adds up.

Needed this to connect my iPhone & iPad to TV. I've used it several times (along with HDMI cable) and it does the job. Wish there were a cheaper option.

I work almost exclusively from an iPad Pro. And I love presenting from my iPad because it allows me to use the iPad as a "confidence monitor." Many conference rooms at work have Airplay devices, but not all of them. So this comes in really handy. Don't buy after-market adapters. Get Apple-branded ones only. I've been burned more than once.

Great device for connecting your Apple products to your TV / Monitor. Easy to hook up and no additional software to install. It's almost too simple and it just displays the image on your Apple device.

I picked up the item ordered online. Stephen at the desk was super kind and helpful. He offered further assistance if I had any issues with the product. The product was in a good shape in an open box. Good customer service for an excellent product. Fair price, too!

I bought this so that I could use my iPad and iPhone on my HDTV using the HDMI input. It was an easy connection, though it does require your own HDMI cord. The resolution of the image was excellent. This is a great way to mirror your device on an HDTV when you don't have an Apple TV.

Plug any HDMI cable from your tv into it, make sure your tv is on that channel, plug it in your phone like a charger and about 3 seconds later your phone screen will show up on the tv. Everything you do will mirror to the screen. I like a lot that you can still plug a phone charger in too while using it.

This adapter is great to mirror anything from your phone. From pictures, videos, or streaming shows or movies. This is great esp if you are traveling and staying in hotels that don’t have a lot of channels and you want to stream let’s say Netflix from your phone to the tv. Just wish it was not so pricey.

My smart tv recently did away with one of my streaming apps, so I needed another way to watch without having to use the small screen of my phone. This was the perfect solution. If you are looking to take your iPad and view your pictures, videos, and other Apps on your HDTV, this is the device you will need. The connection to the iPad is secure and the HDMI connection is as well. The video quality is excellent. Plus, you can charge the iPad while using the adapter. It comes at a cost but is worth it if you don't own an Apple TV.

I disconnected my cable and internet because I was changing providers. I needed something that I could use to connect my iPhone 5s to my tv. This was perfect. Very simple to use and the extra USB port for charging was just the icing on the cake. I have 3 toddlers, needless to say the tv is pretty much on all day

Least expensive way to put video on your TV from your iPhone or iPad. Do you have movies on your iPhone or stream Netflix? This is the perfect way to view those videos on most televisions. Apple iOS supports video out and this adapter plus a HDMI cable is all you need. This adapter will also charge your Apple devise. I use this to stream Hulu and Netflix through my trucks back seat video system.
