Apple HDMI Adapter

I intended to use our iPad with this interfacing to our TV since we had multiple family members joining us. The problem was that I couldn’t get the iPad microphone to work with it plugged in. The other issue I’ve had, and I don’t know if it’s the adapter, iPhone, or TV, but I’ve had some issues with video playback when trying to play movies from my iPhone to a tv through the HDMI input.
