I have been using the Macbook 13 M1 for a year but I needed more RAM in terms of my usage. I upgraded my Macbook recently and got the battery and speed I expected.

Switching from Windows to Mac. MacOS have some quirks, but overall big upgrade from Windows. Powerful hardware and system is fully optimized for virtually no lagging with browsing, multitasking, watching movies, etc. And the battery is life is awesome - may take 5+ days to need to charge the battery depending on how I'm using it. The display is great, although I have a Lenovo Yoga C930 with an even better 4K display. Much more powerful for my current needs, but this machine should last me 8 years and allow me to use more demanding tasks when needed!

So much good to say, this is the fastest computer I’ve ever had. After switching to Chromebooks for the last eight years, this is so much better and satisfying. The keyboard and haptic trackpad are awesome, speakers are great and loud, and loving getting back to OS X after so many years away. I didn’t plug the charger in for three days, can say enough about this device. J

It was a choice between this or the latest Microsoft Surface laptop. Since I'm both a musician and a software developer, I was leaning towards the MS laptop due to the need for MS's Visual Studio IDE. Back when Apple used Intel chips, dual-booting between MacOS and Windows was a no-brainer, but I wasn't sure if I could do the same with Apple Silicon. Sure enough, using Parallels with Windows 11, I'm able to run the Windows dev applications I need. Better still, I can run them in application windows alongside Mac applications, outside of the Windows 11 desktop UI. And I can run native MacOS testing tools like Postman and test and debug my code running under Windows on the same machine. Neat. But I have a dedicated Windows desktop to handle all of that in my normal day-to-day, this would only be useful on the occasional trip from home where I'd need to access things I need for my job. With the necessary "work" requirements out of the way, I moved over to my personal stuff. I was able to completely replicate my music recording abilities and move off of my Windows desktop to the Mac. My DAW of choice, Reaper, runs under both, and all of my plugins and virtual synths/samplers I use have either native Apple Silicon versions or run as VST3 plugins. I was able to take a project I started under Windows and continue it with no issues on my new Macbook Pro. And using a Thunderbolt dock, I was able to plug in all of my outboard equipment (Helix guitar processor/audio interface, MIDI keyboard controller, DAW controller, license dongles for plugins, etc) that I needed to use. Now, gaming is still hit-or-miss, mostly "miss". A lot of the games I play just run better on a beefy Windows machine with a good dedicated GPU as opposed to the Mac. I installed a few casual games to play on here when I'm travelling, but I still use my Windows machine for daily development work and games that require a bit more performance. All in all, I'm extremely happy with the choice and I don't feel like I'm missing out by not going with the MS Surface. I have everything I need, the machine is quite responsive and capable, and I have no worries about it lasting a while.

love my computer, however it was unfortunate that after receiving an estimate online for my old computer trade-in, when i went to the best buy they said “my computer was too old and they were not receiving trade-ins for it anymore” … it was a msi 2020.. and i could have saved an extra $280! my laptop so far it’s great, battery lasts between 4-5 days (i’m not using it 24/7 but when i do it’s for at least 2 hours for homework) it’s fast and just great! the quality of the screen and the colors are just amazing

I upgrade from a 2021 M1 macbook pro 8gb / 256gb. While the performance of that is amazing it always feel like its missing something or i was expecting it to be better when i do software development tasks. This is the one to get for ppl who are not sure but also want a laptop that last long. Amazing battery life and amazing performance that runs at zero fan noises!!

Overall performance is phenomenal, and the display is excellent. But there are a few specific trade-offs you should know about before you jump in. Pros: 1) Deliver exceptional performance for heavy tasks like 4K editing and massive code compilation multiple IDE , CPU and memory intensive workloads running. 2) Excellent Display 3)Excellent trackpad and responsive keyboard ,great user experience. Cons: 1) Performance struggles significantly when running Large Language Models (LLMs) above the 3 billion parameter mark locally - running HuggingFace models. 2) Battery Longevity: Battery health deterioration, with capacity dropping noticeably after as few as 133 charge cycles within a year and moderate usage. Honestly, it’s still the top laptop for general, serious creative and development work, but not good for running LLM models.

Love the machine, the display is amazing. It's the right size for me 16" is too bulky. The trackpad is amazing. The Apple M2 pro zips through most of the applications that I have. Love the ports. I hated it when they removed the MagSafe charging, it is back now!! Love the HDMI port and the card reader. Updated from an old intel MacBook with 4 USB-C , couldn't be happier. Better than the newer M3

I love everything about this MBP. The 14" size is perfect. I use the 16" for work and it feels too big to me. The build quality is so good on these and they are screaming fast at any spec. The battery life is incredible, the performance is unmatched, the display is another level vs the air models (120Hz pro-motion refresh rate and higher DPI). The high impedance audio port is also a nice touch for those with studio headphones.

It is not much different from its predecessor for my basic user needs. It is a solid performer in all of the areas I utilize. The first one I got had a keyboard glitch (typing both the letters c or z would type as "cz" in both cases); I returned it for a new one on the second day of release. This one is perfect so far. The battery seems to be stronger than the M1 Macbook Pro 14". The audio is stellar. Arrived with Ventura 13.0, and I immediately upgraded it to 13.2. Feels like it will last me a lifetime. I am pleased. But wish Apple would develop a 2-in-1 with touch input and a pen like the Yoga 9i. I know it's a dream. A wonderful machine. Great job Apple!
