As a Microsoft/Windows user for 35 years... I have long been waiting for an ARM architecture processor laptop, which is far more efficient with processing and power to come to Windows laptops. It didn't happen. Then, in September 2020... Apple revealed that THEY did it, with the so-called "Apple Silicon", the M1, based on the legendary ARM architecture. The over-the-top reviews were not people going "ga-ga" for Apple, but they were stunned at the power, speed, and efficiency of this new processor. An ARM architecture. So I thought I would give it a couple of years to mature, get the kinks out. I took the jump from Windows to Mac and ordered and received a M2 MacBook Air with 512 GB SSD. However, I was deeply concerned with it having just 8 GB RAM... and I did notice performance issues at times. So, I looked at exchanging it for a MacBook Air for one with 16 GB RAM. That's when I saw that Best Buy was knocking $200 of this M2 MacBook Pro, which not only had the 512 GB SSD I was looking for, but also 16 GB Memory, plus a whole LOT more... much better screen, 14", HDR, plus ventilation, better CPU and GPU and more. And it ended up costing just $200 more than the 13" M2 MacBook Air with 512 GB SSD and 16 GB Memory! I returned the MacBook Air to Apple for a full refund. I've been using this incredible machine for almost 2 months, and it is amazing. It is beyond fast, more like INSTANTANEOUS performance, amazing battery life, a very nice keyboard, the trackpad is amazing, the screen with HDR content is incredible, the sound much bigger than what you would expect with a laptop. I could go on and on. I knew the user interface going from Windows to MacOS would be a big leap, but I had some experience with the OS before. Some things in MacOS are better than Windows, like the consistent menu across the top from application to application (thank you Apple, NO thank you Microsoft for violating that convention), and some things are better on Windows than MacOS, like keyboard shortcuts, dragging things, windows management. Oh well, that's life. Trade-offs. Overall, I can say that the whole "experience" of going from a Windows machine to Mac has been amazing. For the record, I came from a high-end Lenovo Yoga 9 with an Intel I7 processor, but that machine and experience is nowhere close to this MacBook Pro! This MacBook Pro's screen is so much more readable, so many things are done so well on the Mac, both in terms of hardware, OS and software. The Lenovo keyboard drove me nuts and hindered my typing productivity. Multimedia is SO much better on the Mac. Video editing is incredible. Nothing on Windows comes close. This laptop is quality and with its top-notch performance it will be good for me for many years to come (I'm hoping 10 years). This is a long-haul machine, and I couldn't be happier. I highly recommend it!

I WAS INITIALLY CONCERED ABOUT USING FILES I.E. MICROSOFT OFFICE ACROSS OPERATING SYSTEMS, BUT ONE DRIVE WORKS PERFECT AND SEAMLESSLY. WHILE A LESS EXPENSIVE WINDOWS LAP-TOP IS A BIT FASTER VS. APPLE, THE M2 PRO CHIP WORKS LIKE A WELL-OILED MACHINE. THE SCREEN IS BEAUTIFUL AND THE ASTETHIC BUILD IS LEGIT. THE TRACK PAD IS AMONGST THE BEST OUT THERE. I USED IT PORTABLY FOR A COUPLE HOURS PER DAY AND THE BATTERY LASTED THE ENTIRE WEEK WITHOUT HAVING TO CHARGE. SUCH A GREAT FEELING NOT HAVING TO CONSTANTLY WORRYING ABOUT NEEDING A CHARGER. THE CHARGER IS ALSO MUCH MORE PORTABLE THAN MOST COMPETING WINDOWS LAP-TOPS. THIS IS AN EXPENSIVE MACHINE COMPARED TO A COMPETING WINDOWS LAP-TOP WITH BETTER PERFORMANCE, SO I AM NOT SUGGESTING THAT IT IS WORTH THE ADDITIONAL PRICE, BUT I AM ULTIMATELY VERY SATISFIED WITH THE PURCHASE AND ENJOY USING IT.

The 14" MacBook Pro with the M2 chip is a fast, reliable machine perfect for creative pros and power users. It delivers excellent performance, a stunning XDR display, great battery life, and top-notch build quality. Pricey, but worth it if you need serious power in a portable package

This is the best laptop I've ever owned. As a photographer/videographer this is the first laptop I've purchased that I didn't need significant RAM/Storage upgrade. Only 16GB RAM and 512GB storage and I can edit photos in LRC and PS simultaneously without any issue at all. I'm confident it will work just as well for my video editing as well. I haven't thrown it a task yet that it wasn't able handle and finish with flying colors. Battery lasts sooooo much longer than my 2019 MacBook Pro. It had pretty much become a desktop as I couldn't hardly get through 1 hr of editing without plugging it in. I did move from the 16" on my 2019 to the 14" on this one and it's working just as well for me and it's SOOOO MUCH LIGHTER. I haven't had one issue with it yet and I would definitely recommend to anyone shopping for a new laptop.
