Just plug it into your iPad, it prompts you asking if you want to pair, “yes” and viola, done. Daughter loves using the pencil on her new iPad. Just, be sure to verify compatibility with your iPad.

Apple Pencil (1st Generation)

Ihave the 9th Generation IPad and its perfect. So much better than a normal stylus you can get. Works great and love the pressure sensitivity.

Good pencil

It is a little heavier than the second gen pencil. I do wish it had the magnetic feature that the newer one has. However, for the sake of saving a couple bucks, this is a reliable purchase.

I bought this one open box after losing my previous one, and my only qualm is that I don't remember it dying this fast. The charge depletes relatively quickly, and I don't know if that's because gen 1 pencils are old, or because I bought it open box. Maybe both! Either way, I still really like it.
