The Apple Watch is my best fitness companion. The interface is fluid and I love that it tracks so many fitness related data. I also love that fact that I can swim wearing it.

Great watch. It lasted 5 years. I bought a Fitbit to replace it bc it was cheaper. I should have bought another Apple Watch.

    One of my best purchases!

I purchased this after my Fitbit HR crashed. I am SO happy that I did. It keeps track of my steps, records my exercise and daily activity. Even better, it reminds me to stand up and walk around every hour and I can set it to remind me to breathe deeply throughout the day. I have customized the face to have exactly what I want to see every day. I really could go on for hours about how much I love this watch. I recommend waiting for a sale and getting Applecare. Well worth it!

Perfect for health monitoring and much more

I purchased the Apple Watch Series 2 shortly after having open heart surgery. The watch had some features that helped me monitor my health status: 1) My heart rate was being closely monitored and the watch automatically recorded my heart rate every few minutes. 2) I had to walk daily and the watch recorded my walk information recording distance, speed and other parameters. 3) I had to perform deep breathing exercises every few hours and the watch automatically reminded me to do that and walked me through the deep breathing sequence. Since purchasing the Apple Watch Series 2 three months ago I have learned to use many of the other features and am constantly discovering new reasons to love it. For example, my iPhone is sometimes not within reach. I can answer the phone by simply talking into the watch. similarly, I can see respond to text messages without digging in my pockets for the phone. I simply look at my wrist. When I am getting ready to go outside, I just look at the watch and I know the temperature and other weather related issues. It's great. And, it tells time. What's not to like!

    Another over rated Apple product

I've always been a Samsung person, but decided to take the Apple leap when I thought the Apple watch would some how revolutionize my time management and multi tasking. I was extremely disappointed with all of the great features I lost when I switched to an iphone, but hoped that it would be worth it with to add the watch to my tech collection. There were a handful of things I did love about this watch. As a Disney fanatic I love the talking Minnie and Mickey. I wish there were an option to have her speak the time at the top of the hour. I loved taking a quick glance to see what the outside temperature is (living in the mid west, it changes every 5 minutes). I loved the grocery list app that I could easily scroll through in the store. I loved that I could be talking face to face with someone and discreetly check my notification alert without seeming disruptive by pulling out my phone (nothing says "you're not important" like looking at your phone when someone is talking to you). Well.....that's the hand full of things I loved. Now for the cons. Apps are slow and when they weren't slow they would freeze and then crash. The first time this happened it drained half of my battery life. I disliked how generic the alerts are. Other smart watches actually show the face of the person calling or messaging. For the price you pay, this is a no brainer. I thought the body of the watch was quite bulky. I hate the idea that I had spent just shy of $400 for a piece of technology that has to be near another piece of expensive technology in order to function. Siri does hardly anything. The speaker on the watch is total junk to be honest.......I look like Inspector Gadget talking into my watch as I drive down the road. I found it's uses very limited aside from fitness and notifications. Long story long, if you want to just look at an expensive piece of tech to see what your other expensive piece of tech is doing.......go for it. I'm waiting for an LTE enabled watch. If I can't leave my phone at home, what's the point? On a side note about Apple customer service, I called every time my watch crashed. After many phone calls, I had a tech advisor tell me she would call me back to run a diagnostics on it. In the mean time I took it upon myself to go back to Best Buy since I was still within my 15 day return policy time. My final decision was just to return the watch. When Apple called me back, I explained that I had already corrected the situation by returning the watch. She was clearly annoyed when I said I had corrected the situation, she said "Well yes and no, now we don't know what was wrong with it". As a consumer, I do not pay this much money to be a test subject so it is not my job to help them to figure out bugs that should have been worked out before it was released. Might I also add, Best Buy was awesome in all of this and asked not questions when I needed to return it.

Fell off, faulty band, waste of money

I bought this watch earlier this year along with Apple care as I have other apple products and wanted something waterproof for kayaking, paddleboarding, swimming, etc. I wore this paddleboarding today and after a minute or two in the water reached up to get back on my board and saw that it was no longer on my wrist. It had just fallen off. I searched everywhere and unfortunately don't have scuba gear so couldn't dive for it. I spoke to apple customer service and was told there was nothing they could do and that I should've kept better track of my watch. I am beyond livid I spent all this money on the product and warranty only to have it be faulty and get lossed while using it for its intended purpose. Don't waste your money like I did!

Forget about Fitbit, the Apple Watch is it!!!

After being disappointed by my 2nd Fitbit Charge HR falling apart and the lack of support from customer support (they only offered 25% towards a new Fitbit...why would I do that if their products keep falling apart?), I said forget it and took a chance on the Apple Watch. The BEST DECISION I EVER MADE!!! Works extremely well with my iPhone. Extremely motivating with workouts too. Quick, easy and extremely convenient. The screen is bright and quick, like a tiny MacBook. If you are already on team Apple, expect nothing less.

I bought the AW series 2 (38mm) in gold w/navy band and I never thought I would love this watch as much as I do or more than my Movado Bold, but I do! This is an impressive piece of technology. My favorite feature is the music app; I love that I can listen to music during my workout. I have it BT to a my BOSE sport headphones and it works perfectly. The activity monitor is perfect for me and easy to use and actually motivates me to keep moving. I also find that with the AW I don't have my phone out as much as I can monitor calls and texts etc from my watch. If you're thinking of about making this purchase - do it! You won't regret it!

Nice watch but not for me

I was excited about getting an Apple Watch because I knew that it had GPS and you could use it without having your phone nearby. I am a runner and I was excited to have something that I thought I would be able to use to track runs and call/text while I'm on a run. I never take my phone with me because I have a 6S plus and it is way too big. Well, I tried it out once and it didn't work out for me. You still have to be in some proximity to your phone to use it on the watch, and an app I use, Strava, does not work on the watch unless the watch is close by. I ended up taking the Apple Watch back and getting a Garmin Watch instead, which I should've done in the first place. If you're just looking for a simple activity tracker, this is the watch for you. I am a distance runner (half and full marathons) and this watch didn't work for me.

I was on the fence for a while about buying this watch. I went back and forth between the 42 and the 38. I went with the 38mm and it's perfect! I wanted the gold with cocoa band but it wasn't available in the 38mm, I wasn't sure about this combo but it looks great! Very classy! I am 51 and 5'6" 145 pounds. This watch doesn't look huge on my arm, and it is very light weight! Absolutely would recommend!

Got this watch for my daughter, she absolutely loves it, i bought the Nike 42 mm for myself same day. a bit overprice in my opinion as these will not last long may be 2 years tops, screen is sharp and bright, band is extremely comfortable a bit pricy if one want to change color ($49). bought apple care i think it is must to get at least two two years use out of it.

My boyfriend was using the Series 1 until I bought him the Series 2 for V-Day. He absolutely loves it! He also use his watch to track his daily steps. For one thing, he no longer needs to go into the app to see his steps. His steps are now automatically shown on the home screen.

    Neat gadget, atrocious activity tracker

A few positive aspects of the apple watch are its functions as extensions of the iphone. Replying to text messages with voice input when the phone isn't handy is a smart feature. Similarly, taking calls on the watch is cool, even if you look a little silly doing it. The build quality - especially when compared to its nearest competitor- is superb. Materials, fit and finish are impressive. The display is bright and readable, although folks with sight issues might consider the 42mm option for better readability. I purchased the device Oct 2016 because I needed a heart rate monitor to both track my rate during the day and during workouts. The sensor is extremely poor in its ability to report consistently good data. It will only yield a result if the wrist is in a steady position for ten seconds or longer. When playing fast-paced sports, the sensor fails completely: it produces incorrect readings or no readings at all. What is deeply troubling is the lack of forethought given to a premium-priced tracker. For example, how is the tracker able to give a correct reading of 110 BPM one minute, and 54 BPM the next? That's clearly erroneous data being provided and the engineers failed to add some sort of error-checking mechanism. Additionally, a default behavior during an activity should be to set the unit to Do Not Disturb; instead the default is to allow incoming messages and calls. The screen and attendant motion sensor have their own issues. The screen fails to respond to wrist flicks especially during workouts. Oddly enough, it never fails to respond when driving: the slightest turn of the wheel will cause the screen to light up. When the wrist raise doesn't wake the screen, a tap is required. The screen turns off after a few seconds to preserve battery life. Tapping the screen allegedly keeps the screen on for 70 seconds. I have never observed the screen to remain on for 70 seconds, even with the setting enabled. I brought these concerns to apple's attention and their response was for me to pound sand. I cannot recommend this product as an activity tracker due to its shortcomings and lack of foresight given to its intended use.
