I decided to buy the first generation Apple Watch now for Christmas instead of waiting and seeing what comes next. What I've found is a great first generation product release that while showing some flaws (overall battery life is short, some apps slow) is a wonderful jumping off point for anyone looking for a smart watch. I highly recommend and look forward to future releases in this new product line.

Not worth the amount of money you will spend. It is not accurate on anything

The watch is easy to use and set up. It would be nice to be able to customize the activity rings. It works very well with my iPhone. Best buy had it on sale $100 less then Apple so it was a good buy.

Apple products are great but buying from Best Buy ... hmmm it's pricy

I got the 42mm aluminum space gray for Christmas. I'm a die hard hunter and that is one reason why I wanted the watch. When I'm in my tree stand or stalking game my phone is always on silent and in my gear bag. I have a wife and two boys and anything can happen in life. It's very nice to not have to make all kinds of noise getting into my bag periodically to check my phone. If a phone call or message happens to come through I can feel the tap on my wrist and at the (flick of the wrist) lol. I can see the message or call with minimal noise. Absolutely convenient. Can also check weather and radar depending on the apps you have, also temperatures and future temperatures. Don't be concerned about cold or rain the watch works flawlessly. Gave three stars because for the money Apple needs to put a little more attention to the speed of operations on the watch. Apps need to load a lot faster than they do. Don't be skeptical on weather elements getting to the watch. I wear it in the shower and have been soaked to the bone in the woods and my watch works just fine. Another point for the watch is I take my wife and boys to the pool and have a Bluetooth speaker I play music through and I can still control volume and songs while in the pool. Yes I will be swimming with the watch on. Go to YouTube and search waterproof Apple Watch and you will see why. From my experience with water so far it does not concern me. I also use it as my clock / alarm for work during weekdays. I also use it at work to control my Bluetooth speaker on the job site. So far my experience has been very good. Good luck to you all. Do t need it, my phone does everything it does... wastes my money

I was skeptical at first, but I never count a product out until i tried it. It took me a week to figure out if I wanted to keep it, but once I decided I was very happy with my decision. Being able to view and respond to notifications as quick as you can with the Apple Watch is great, especially when you work in an environment where you can't exactly pull your phone out all the time. The fitness area of the watch is very accurate (HR monitor, steps, miles, etc) and is very motivating. The watch itself is very comfortable. I wear it when I'm doing heavy weight lifting and it doesn't bother me at all. The watch is also more durable than Apple is leading on, so don't feel like you have to keep this thing locked away! Lastly, battery life is also better than I anticipated. I've gotten about 78 hours on one charge out of it (no power saving mode), but I am also not one of those people who are glued to it. The battery also charges pretty fast. 0-100% in about 100 mins. Buy a stand for it, and you won't mind having to charge it every night (if need be), because it looks really nice on a stand. Try it!

I received this watch as a gift for Christmas. I was very skeptical because I use to own the Galaxy Gear watch and wasn't impressed. Now that I switched over to Apple I figured I would give it a try. I'm glad I did. I love the activity app that is on the watch. It helps me remember to make my goals and reminds me to stand up. I also love how fast it is compared to my other watch. It sends and receives text messages very quick. Thank you Apple for a great product.

I absolutely love my watch.! If you're like me you carry around a large purse and when it's time to look for something you can't always do that. I like the fact you don't have to dig down in your purse to look for your phone when its ringing or you want to respond to a text. My Apple Watch is already on my wrist & I can answer the phone with ease! I just love it!!!

It has been years since I wore a watch. I used my pager and then my phone for the time. This is such a simple and flexible way to access my iPhone. As new apps are added it will become even better.

The Apple watch is a joke. What's the point of this thing? For one, I feel like Luke Skywalker with it on and besides it's rather useless except as a watch and I have nice watches for telling time. It is nice as a notifier for texts etc and to answer calls around the house when my phone is not with me but other than that, it is basically another useless gadget I need to charge everyday. I'm fine with my iPhone 6s Plus but the watch is too much and looks silly on a grown man if you ask me. It's a gimmick and I can't imagine this rubbish lasting. It is also just too thick and clunky looking and like I said, basically does nothing of any real use to me. It did track my steps! Woopee! These things are just so dang overrated! Or maybe they're not? I can't imagine that men of my age or even close to my age (50ish) wanting to wear this childish gadget. I gave it 3 stars because it is Apple and it is nicely made and the screen, buttons and functions are quite nice but ONLY 3 stars because it is just a useless gadget but I should have known that going in. Heck, I'm 50, I can barely read my iPhone 6s Plus screen, let alone a tiny Apple watch. Mine lasted about 2 weeks and I sold it to Chewbacca on eBay. What on earth is it that people like about these ludicrous devices? Someone, really, give me a real reason why anyone needs this thing? Heck, tell me why anyone wants one? I got mine for free and like I said I sold it to Chewy. What is even neat or cool about the Apple Watch? It looks goofy but vibrates when I have taken enough steps! Wow, awesome! I can change colors with over priced $40+ pieces of rubber. And how about the $15,000 gold watch? LMAO! It won't be worth its weight in gold next year. I just want to meet one person who actually paid 15 grand for a 1st gen smart watch that will be obsolete, well....yesterday! Anyhow, these things are a joke but I guess I am a bit of a Maverick around here because most reviewers seem to like this thing. I just don't get it. There is my lovely review.

Purchased my second apple watch as I returned my first one directly to apple. I went with best buy this time because it was $50 and I still had not made up my mind if I liked it or not, so I figured I would try it out again. It has awesome features and I love the notifications. But after having it for a week for the second time, all I really use it for is to tell time and my notifications. Is that worth $400 to you? I am still debating on returning my watch or if I should keep it.

The watch is so great; I've enjoyed the activity, messages, etc. way more than I thought I would. Love the different watch faces. It's nice to look on my wrist and see the weather, my calendar appointments or tell siri to send me a reminder.

Faulty product! Best Buy won't honor after 15 days

The Apple Watch is a watch of money. Do not buy...

Been wanting an Apple Watch for awhile now and glad that Best Buy began selling it because now they can be had at a discount. Purchased the Apple Watch Sport version because couldn't justify spending $600 on a generation 1 smart watch. I'm using it as more of a glorified fitness tracker and it does that well. However I thought it would have more usefulness. Seems many apps just don't work well or have too many bugs. Others don't update on their own in glances unless you open them on the watch or phone which defeats their purpose. More of a shortcoming of apps than watch itself.

I haven't worn a watch for 20+ years. I held off on the Apple Watch until it was on sale, and I had rebate coupons at Best Buy. I've been wearing it for a month now, and so far, I really like it. I like using Siri to control my phone's music playback. I like the fitness tracking. I like the widgets for weather and other stuff. Battery life is fine, as long as you remember to charge it every night. I wish I could create my own custom watch faces, and that it were just a bit thinner. I'm not sure I'd like it as much at full price, but for the $259 I paid, it's a nice device.

Have enjoyed my Apple Watch as an extension of my iPhone. I think some people's disappointment with it stem from unrealistic expectations. It is not meant to be a smartphone on your wrist, nor is it meant to be a superpower fitness band. It is a great time-piece that serves great as a convenient communication tool while driving. I appreciate leaving my phone in my pocket for notifications unless it is something important enough to dig deeper into an app. Turn by turn directions are great, right on your wrist and the health data has been a great addition to my routine. Is it worth the sticker price? If you can afford it without worrying about it, go for it. If you can't, find a way to make it more affordable (sales, gift cards, etc). Is it an essential? No. No wrist watch is. Most tech are luxury items that make life more enjoyable. Have realistic expectations and get it for what you would gain from it, not hype.

I'm an Apple geek, but didn't but this right away b/c I didn't really need it. The main reason I bought it (besides the $100 off sale) was b/c of the ability to NOT take my phone out of my jeans pocket all the time, especially while driving. This little watch really is quite intuitive. Siri is pretty spot on, and the engineers at Apple, as with other devices, anticipated very well real life scenarios. When a text comes in, sometimes a quick "Yes" or "No" or other short answer is all that is necessary, so they built in some quick reply options right on the screen. Or you can just Siri a response. Also helpful is the little thermometer on some of the watch faces. You can of course customize many of the faces to display whatever you like, but I really like the quick temp option. Plenty of other things to like about this, but I'll wrap up with the feel of it. I really don't like wearing anything on my wrist. I've bought watches in the past only to shelf them 99% of the time b/c of the feel. This little sport wrist band is SO nice. If you're not noticing the feel of the watch, then it's doing what it's supposed to do. Most of the day I forget it's on there unless I need to use it. So there you have it. Battery life is just fine btw. I get 2 days usage out of one charge. Perhaps b/c I turn off a lot of the unnecessary features, but still, it seems to work well for me. A truly fantastic piece of equipment that would definitely make Dick Tracey proud!
