The camera was easy to setup and has good field of view.. The year battery life isn't as long as stated unless you have in very low traffic area. Recommend solar charger

Don’t even use anymore as I cannot use my phone to even see what is going on. You are forced into buying a cloud/video package. Blah. Works well, great picture, no issues. Just not paying the overpriced package.

I really like this little camera. The Arlo Essential XL Spotlight wire free camera was super easy to get set up. I downloaded the Arlo app, charged the battery (which they say last 1 year before a recharge is needed) and I followed the simple set up. I hung the camera in the back yard under the eave so it could clearly record activity outside the sliding door. We have a squirrel that comes by to visit almost daily and we leave peanuts out for “Jasper.” The peanuts had been disappearing but we hadn’t been able confirm it was Jasper who got them. After setting up the camera, we saw him eat the nuts! The camera motion detector is so sensitive that it picked up a squirrel. So cute!! We can also check the live view any time from the app to see what’s happening outside. We watched the gardeners work and the exterminators. We could verify they did all they were supposed to do. We can speak to them via the 2 Way audio. That’s super convenient when it’s 34° outside. And Jasper keeps coming back... although sometimes there’s a bluebird that steals the peanuts! Busted you, little bird! It’s security and it’s useful and fun. It’s a great value and the wireless feature allows installation anywhere. It records in color and with the auto spotlight, at night it records clearly in color. The video quality isn’t the best you can get of course, but it’s very good HD 1080p and enough to clearly pick up a small squirrel! And I added it to my Alexa Show. Now I can ask Alexa to show me the back yard and it shows me the live stream. It also gives me verbal notification through Alexa and the app every time motion is detected. The notifications tell me if it’s a person, an animal or just motion. If you sense there’s an emergency, from the app you can contact e911, call a friend or activate a siren. Of course you can also speak to them through the app. This little thing is so easy to work with via the app and it’s a blast to use (and adds security). I highly recommend this Arlo Essential wireless camera.

I have installed 4 of these at my home. It took about an hour TOTAL and the battery level STILL shows 97% after 6 days!

Camera easy to set up, I lasted 20 to have it run and no isssues , it automatically connected to Alexa eco 8
