Sometimes restarting it helps but not all the time. I also have it set up in my front yard where there is alot of activity so the batterey only lasts about 2 or 3 days.

While the recording clarity is indeed impressive, the overall experience has been disappointing. The equipment fails often, leaving me frustrated and questioning its reliability. What's worse is the lack of customer support when issues arise. Despite the promising features, the frequent malfunctions overshadow any benefits. I have replaced 3 of the four cameras and 6 batteries. When the next failure happens, I will purchase and security camera system from another brand. I am disapointed.

Perfect for new or existing Arlo users
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The Arlo - Essential XL Spotlight Camera is a perfect companion camera for existing users that have previously purchased an Arlo Camera with a HUB. This new camera easily hooks up to your existing network of cameras via the Arlo mobile app. It is advertise that this unit does not require a HUB like some of the older cameras, however it is great that it is compatible with existing hardware. This comes in handy for those opt to not use the Arlo monthly cloud subscription as the activities will get saved on an existing hub. The advertised battery life of 1 year is amazing, especially compared to some of the older models which were about 2 months pending on activity. The 1080 camera is sufficient enough to see what is going on. I don't see that a 4k camera would be worth the upgraded cost as this unit does a fine job at capturing activities. It does have a spot light to light up the area during activities during the night or in darker areas. Through the mobile app, you can customize activity zones to help save on triggers and battery usage. It is still up in the air what the true battery life is for an average user, but if I can get 6 months, that is a win as I don't need to bother with charging frequently or get the solar panel. As mentioned, set up through the mobile app is a breeze and notification alerts work great. Highly recommend this new model from Arlo.
