Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The main difference between the arlo essential and essential xl are; 2 different camera mounting positions one at the back of the camera, and one on the bottom. The essential only mounts to the back. The battery increased capacity is said to be what the increased physical camera size is from. I can't say I've noticed a difference in video quality. For only $20 more than the essential camera it seems to have some worthwhile features.
