Camera is Great - Service has ups and downs

Setup of the system is faster with the mobile app. It allows you to add cameras and see everything before the final positioning. The app is good when you want to see old clips or go live. We use indoors but have found signal strength to some of the further cameras very good. Battery life is also very good but you need to remember to not use the constant live feature. The cameras have a built in magnet that allows you to stick these cameras on something metal without the need to mount. The most frustrating part was the subscription service. I had 6 cameras storing video clips locally. But when i added another 6 cameras to the account, I was forced to pay for a subscription to see videos for the original 6. I spent 3 hours with support and they mentioned this was a bug with the website. At the end I ended up making 2 accounts for the 12 cameras.

Not giving it 5 stars because the rechargeable batteries only lasted about 5 weeks when mounted outside and set on motion detection only and reducing sensitivity and turning off the LED indicator. Also, for the price I feel that ceiling mounts and an electrical cord/charger should be provided for each camera. I am not tech savvy. Set up was fairly easy. The only issue is that I have not been able to set up separate Arlo accounts for my wife and I, which results in one of us being logged off when the other goes into the Arlo account on a different device to view an activated camera. I have not contacted the help desk for assistance in resolving this issue. The cameras provide great picture quality and the coverage area is wide. Another nice feature is the adjustable recording time that can be set on each separate camera, which helps save on battery consumption. It takes a little over an hour to recharge a battery, which I feel is pretty quick.

These cameras are awesome. 1080p, 2-way audio, all that stuff that other cameras have but what’s great about these is their 3-Second Look Back feature, and the fact that they have a free storage plan that saves the last 7 days in the cloud. Free!

Camera works great. Easy to modify settings and alerts thru the app. Easy install. Battery life is great when using it wirelessly. Night vision far exceeded my expectations. Best camera for the amount of cloud free recording on the market. 1080p is more than sharp enough, no need to feel like you need 4K. Lag is minimal when using the 2-way audio, exactly what I expected. Audio is clear. Very satisfied with this product.

    Returned and got the Nest

We originally purchased the Arlo Pro 2, 2 pack and installed it outdoors. In the beginning, it was great and we enjoyed using it. Unfortunately there were somethings we couldn't overlook. Pros: - Really cool looking cameras - Fast & easy to set-up. - Application is definitely better looking and higher standard than the Nest - FREE online video rewatching Cons: - The reason we returned and got the Nest, is that if you are viewing your camera in LIVE VIEW, it does not record unless you manually press record! This is beyond stupid! We lost a package because we had the video open, stepped away, and when we came back our package was gone. Unfortunately - since we had live view open it did not record who stole our package. The NEST records 24/7, even if you are watching live. This is a game-changer for me and it's cheaper. If Arlo can fix that i'll definitely look into changing over back.

Quick and easy set up. Cameras work well. Nice 1080. I'm still moving cameras around trying to decide what I want to see. Have several outside for security & others for wildlife viewing.

The Arlo is so easy to set up. Great quality video. Haven’t noticed any slow down with our WiFi like I have with past wireless systems. Only negatives: 1) I find is that if the camera is not plugged in and running on only battery, if in a high traffic area, the battery goes fairly quickly. Had to charge one within a week. 2) I wish there was a continuous recording instead of only when there’s motion.

Pretty easy to set up. The batteries last quite a while before needing a recharge. Love the app and being able to access it remotely. The two way audio needs some help. I have tried it from the App via an android phone. From what I gather the audio/mic is quiet if you use it from the android phone. In short, you have to almost yell into the mic to be heard on the arlo camera. I think that is the only negative for it at this point. The HD quality of the cameras is pretty good too! If you have motion detect on it'll write to your library with very little latency. It only takes a few seconds for it to upload. The motion detect is acceptable out of the box. I see there is an adjustment for it but haven't needed to mess with it at all.

Purchased Arlo Pro 2 set with 4 cameras and we are generally happy with the product. Cameras manage to catch most of the movement around the house but sometimes for whatever reason they don't catch some of the movement or catch it too late. There is no detailed instructional manual included so you need to get most of your info from the website and forums. Another thing we noticed is that if it is very windy outside cameras turn on every minute which depletes battery life. There are settings you can adjust in such case to go from extra sensitive to normal. Your stuff gets automatically deleted after 7 days so make sure to plug in your USB into your base to backup the data. Generally speaking it is a good system because there is nothing like it on the market and it does not require monthly premium but it would be ideal to allow at least 6 cameras, provide "how-to-use" manual and to arrive with extra battery.

    Wire free Security Camera

I owned this camera over 5 months now. Here are my pros and cons on this camera: Pros 1. Wire Free (battery operated) 2. Easy to install (magnet or mount) 3. Easy setup 4. Easy to recharge battery 5. Free 7 day cloud storage (deletes all videos recorded 7 days ago) 6. Option to save only the videos you want to keep to your own device 7. Review videos recorded with the App 8. Received alerts when camera battery is low Cons 1. Recording Delay - Motion detection records slow. The video will record nothing if that person walked by the camera really fast. It will only record 3 seconds before the motion detection starts if your camera is connected directly to the power. 2. Video recording hit and miss - There are times that the one of camera did not record anything. I have to open the app to turn off the camera and turn back on to get it back to work with the motion detection. 3. Motion detection - I set video to be recording up to 300 seconds until activity stops. At times, the video stops recording even if there is activity going on. The company doesn't state when the camera will stop recording with no motion detection. You can basically stand in front of the camera without moving for a few seconds and the recording will stop. It may not resume recording fast enough if motion detection is triggered again. 4. Notification/video upload delay - At times I get the notification but the video does not show until a minute or more later, for a 11 second video clip. 5. Live stream delay - live stream delay at times are delayed anywhere from 3 to 5 seconds. 6. App crashes at times - I would log in with the App and it sometimes tells me that my account was logged in on another device. I DID NOT share my info with anyone. How is that possible? I believe this is the App issue. The app crashes and closes itself when I try to delete about 10+ videos from the cloud storage. 7. Base Offline - Sometimes I get the message stating my base is offline when I open the App. The base is connected directly to the modem with the Ethernet cable. I have no issue using the internet even wifi, when I get these messages. 8. Activity Zone only available if camera is plugged in (power). Overall, this is one of the cheaper system I found with some of the features that I like. I can just take one camera out and recharge the battery and exchange the fully charged battery with the other cameras, which are hard to reach or take out if mounted with screws. If your camera records about 5 to 10 minutes clips daily, expect to charge your battery within 3 to 4 weeks. I do get frustrated with the camera sometimes, especially the App with all the delays and connection issues from time to time. Tip: If you think you need more cameras in the future, I suggest getting the 4 camera (or more) set. Individual add-ons costs over $150 each.

Very easy to setup, but we've had two batteries go bad after a month or so. The factory did replace them but you have to be on hold for awhile. The library and storage sections work great. Overall it's been a pretty good product.

This is by far the best security camera system I've owned. The arlo pro 2 is definitely easy to use and even easier to install. The arlo app makes everything so much easier and convenient. You have instant access to everything the system has to offer in the palm of your hands. Setup was a breeze and once you do, you can continue to adjust settings on your phone. Everything you need to install the cameras indoors or outdoors is included. batteries are fully charged when you open it so there's no need to charge it right away. I bought this in Nov '17 and have not hit 50% on the batteries yet and it's almost March. Only downside to this is, it doesn't include a battery charger so you will need to purchase one but not right away which is still considered a good thing I guess. I am very impressed with this system and how it operates. The cameras can be placed literally anywhere you prefer and the image quality is beyond great. I have peace of mind when I leave my property knowing I can instantly stream video of each camera location either separately or all at the same time. (Please Note: It helps to have a constant and reliable internet service provider for both your home and for your cell phone device, as you will always want to have consistent notifications of any motion detection sent straight to your phone.) I am very pleased with this purchase. If you have any other doubts, look up countless reviews on YouTube to help you decide if this is the right security system for you.

The camera setup was easy. Only issue was during initial pairing of camera and base station, thought the app froze and had to reopen it twice. The cameras have performed well, but one camera got stuck on night vision mode and the fix was to turn off night vision mode on the camera and reboot the base station. I noticed better motion capture performance after I set the sensitivity to 100 and fine tuned the camera angle. Also saw a performance improvement after powering the cameras via the usb cable. I have not had any issue accessing the live feed or viewing recorded video, in part due to having the base station connected to a 300/25Mpbs internet connection and Gbit wireless router. Although these are expensive cameras, the least they could do for me is work to my satisfaction and in that regard these cameras have delivered.

Overall good product with one exception. If the power goes out and comes back on, the system does not relink up to the WiFi. It will be offline until you manually turn it back on and sync it to the WiFi again. Not sure if it’s just my settings or if they are all like that. Pros- Battery life is great. Video quality is great. Motion detection is great so as long as you have the zones edited. Installation and setup was easy. Mobile app is easy to use. Cons- Too pricy. Will not relink up to the WiFi automatically if the power ever goes out. I also wish there were siren devices that will link up to the home base. so you can put them in different rooms. If you have a large house you will not really hear the siren going off on the opposite end of the house.

I looked at many designs makes and models and actually ordered a competitive brand then realized that wireless is not always wireless you still needed to run wires to each camera this system is exactly what you want if you want wireless open the box put batteries in and connect router you are up and running in 10 minutes then place the cameras where ever you want its that simple i did misplace the charger though so make sure you put in a good place for later i liked it so much I told my friend about it and he got one and then I bought another system for a family member for the holidays

I've put these in two of my buildings and like them! Pros: Easy to set up; Works at distances I didn't expect; FREE 7 day cloud storage (or just put a usb drive in the back of the base station); Easy to charge cameras just like a cell phone; Gives option for professional monitoring; Real good picture and sound regardless what some reviews say; Good fast security solution without having to run wires or install A/C outlets. Cons: Software has glitches where you have to force stop the app then start it sometimes; They nag you to upgrade to paid plan; The batteries only stay charged for 2 to 3 months instead of what they claim; The usb charging port rubber stopper thing doesn't like to stay in place.
