I've had a few security cameras throughout the past few years, mostly from D-Link and Samsung. Most of these failed hardest on software. This is not the case with Arlo. The software is simple and easy to use, from setup to viewing. The main attraction is that the cameras were wireless; I had heard stories of really bad lag, but that doesn't seem to be the case. The batteries are losing about 10% charge per week (for the camera that is outside and farthest away), so that is acceptable as well. The motion sensors are a bit too sensitive; however, the alerts can be filtered with the optional subscription service. I'm happy with this purchase.

Only thing that is good from the camera is the video quality for the price, the unique notifications allows to quickly jump and see what is going on through the camera however there’s a lot of growth opportunities for the camera. 1. The time the cameras are turned on (due to motions) are ultra slow, the object has been passed the camera and than start recording. So if a thieve decides to run, you won’t catch anything only once the alarm was set. 2. The time or recording is real limited, dos not record as much as I expected and does not record full days. Only few seconds that are given And if you want to see the live camera you can, bur doesn't record the entire time at all. Even after the motion is detected it will only record for 15-20 seconds and than shut off meaning that if you don’t happen to log on and see what’s going on you will only see what was recorded by the camera. 3. The battery life for the cameras are not good at all. They last depending on how much they are activated, in which my case I live in a busy side of town so there’s constantly movement everywhere so the alarm motions keep going off. Due to this, total battery life lasted 1 WEEK! After purchase. Definitely NOT worth it if you live in busy and heavy transition side of town. I decided to keep this camera just for now, but looking to get a better system that can help with my needs to Record 24/7 and send notifications, but to last way more than 1 week of battery life!

I purchased the 4-camera system and the setup was a breeze. No wire, nothing. It works really well but I returned it because: -there is no fast/quick/easy way to stop the monitoring (alert and/or recording). One (two?) click on the app to select a configuration would be great. -related to the above, I put one in my front porch and we kept on getting alerts while we were just getting in/out of our home. As the result, the battery drained rapidly (down to 80% in a few days) which removes one of the system key value proposition. At the end, this is an EXCELLENT system. If you are OK with the 2 restrictions above, just go for it. It's a high quality system.

Picture is great and easy to install. If in a high traffic area though, you will want to hardwire the camera or suffer fast battery drain.

I bought these cameras just for peace of mind and love them, they are very easy to setup and to add additional cameras to it, the picture is great and the chargeable batteries are excellent and last a few weeks at a time, I charged them once and they are still going.

We originally purchased the Arlo (original) System. This particular model just didn’t work for us. The motion detection feature did not detect movement from where we needed to put it. We shipped it back to vendor. We went to BB & purchased the Arlo Pro 2, 2 camera system. This works better because the motion detection range is better. Very easy setup. Clear picture from cameras. App sends notice if it detects motion. I like that your video is stored for 7 days in Cloud without having to pay for storage. Also has audio. As of now, we are pleased with our Arlo Pro 2.

I read plenty of reviews and did the homework. I then decided that this camera and system was right for me, for what I needed and wanted. The setup is easy ready to go fairly quickly. Cameras synced and updated with updates with ease. Camera was installed in it's location with clear images, sound and video! I'm impressed there. Battery life is ok and ultimately depends on how much the camera is triggered an recording. Hook it up to its own power source of you want a more continuous recording to avoid changing the battery as often as you expect. I haven't had to recharge yet so I can't tell you how often I'll need to do that, but I'm guessing like every 3 months. The settings and features are great for me and a first time user. I can see the paid membership will add more versatility, however unneeded by me. I love the free 7 days recording available for free and the ability to add a usb drive to record my videos is also a nice feature I use.

The camera quality is great and so is the audio. The hassles are the cameras battery only holds a charge for 3 days at the most. The download app is good but it times out after about 15 minutes and and live feed will stop and has to be restarted for continuous monitoring. Other than that you can access the cameras and its features great on any wifi. One big plus on the arlo pro 3 so no subscription necessary and all the video is uploaded free to the cloud.

I've been using these cameras outside for a month and a half now and I'm really happy with them. I bought the four pack. They are easy to setup and install. Only downside is that they are relatively expensive and if you want to use some of the extra features, you have to pay a monthly subscription. Also, some features are not available if you use the wireless option, they must be connected to continous power for certain features to be used. The Arlo app is pretty nice. Overall, I'm very happy with these cameras. They're easy enough for anyone to use them.

I bought this camera back in September, I got the 2 pack. The one camera that hardly ever has any activity lasted Sept-March without a charge. Impressive for the cold winters we get in New York. The other camera I have to charge about every 3 weeks. That is high traffic so it’s expected. I turned the sensitivity down because the second the suns out it’ll go off every minute. I have it down to 25 percent sensitivity and I still get notifications every 5 min or so still. If you are questioning if buying a camera is right for you, consider this..my wife was up with our child in the middle of the night and got the dreaded “motion has been detected” she looked at it to see someone wandering around our cars. By the time I found out he was gone but without the cameras we never would have known about it. It’s peace of mind and of course security. I’m waiting to get the 4K version due to questionable reviews. But if you want a good first camera set. Get these.

After talking to several friends and researching about home security camera systems, they all said the same thing...get a hard wired system. I didn't listen. I wanted the ease and convenience of wireless. Come to find out, wireless is not so convenient. The good: The initial setup is foolproof. Even tech challenged folks can do it. Picture quality is decent. Not top of the line, but still HD. Has a port to plug in an external hard drive. Cutomer support is decent. Had a bad camera and they replaced it quickly. The bad: Battery life is nowhere near the claimed amount. High traffic areas, you'll be charging the battery after two or three weeks. Distance from the base station is not as far as claimed either. Keep them close to the house and you'll be OK. Like within 50-75 feet. Cameras can't be out in the open. It says they can, but as soon as it rains, they become useless and one drop of water blocks the lens. The system is very finicky. Sometimes it'll be online, then offline, then back online. Whenever it wants to. Not really reliable. Cameras are also finicky. One stopped working (but got replaced) and the others I have had to re-sync several times. Very annoying. The bottom line is that this is an OK at best system. I've spent so much time up and down the ladder messing with it, I could have just bought a hard wired system instead and have been done with it. I wouldn't say it was a complete waste of money, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. For the price I paid, it's OK for now. Will not own another Arlo product after this one however.

I ordered thee based on a recommendation from the Best Buy tech. These were probably one of the easiest items I've ever installed. Once synced and installed they worked perfectly and are providing a piece of mind. The only item that really takes any effort, is the settings and that is quite easy as well. I would recommend these for sure. The daytime picture quality is very good. The nighttime picture is grainy, but it's nighttime so no complaints.

We got this system for security and see what’s going on while we are asleep or gone from home. Just two days after the geek squad put this up for us we seen a homeless guy came up to are drive way to wash is bike, otherwise a few cats and birds set it off. This system is wireless and the one above the garage that is high we got the solar panel for that one. The other cameras run on a rechargeable battery and we got this put in over a month ago and still have over 85% life left on them so that’s not bad. Reason way I didn’t give this a five star is because after a week the cameras went off the air.we tried everything to get them back up and going but failed. So geek squad came back to see what happened and he tried to reboot the cameras one by one just like they deed when he installed them. It took a while for some one to do this but what can you do. So far everything is working fine and he told me it was a hard drive update that must of did this.

I was looking at wired & wireless Lorex security camera solutions for my home. I also looked at wireless systems at Sam's. Wireless systems seem to be typically limited to four cameras. The Lorex systems have to have receiving antennas at a base station that cannot be clumped together. The wireless systems at Sam's had really bad reception reviews. I bought the Arlo 6 camera system worried that I would have reception issues, though almost no reviews talk about reception. It's an older home with thick walls. The system has worked great! Install was very easy. I bought additional power supplies for the cameras. They're all wired for power and doing great. Setting up custom modes was easy. The picture is clear. I've only had one instance of choppy footage. My night vision has been very good. It works as promised. The app is great and you can put pretty good limits on user access. The free storage is more than enough. I couldn't be happier!

The picture is excellent and the motion activation is very sensitive even at distances of 40feet. I love the thumbnail view as you swipe an alert to see what triggered the recording. You don’t even have to view the recording if you just want to see who triggered the camera. We use it to watch for activity on our front porch as some neighbors have had problems with their furniture ending up in odd places. It works so well covering the porch with its wide angle that it also works to see who is at our door so we don’t need a doorbell camera. The battery life is also very good as it uses about 2% per day. It was very easy to setup and we have the camera outside at a distance of about 40 feet from the base station. The 7 day free recording is perfect. I highly recommend this camera for anyone needing a view on your security as well as seeing who is coming to your door.

I looked at many systems and was nervous about making my decision. Reviews are not always helpful in finalizing a choice like this considering the expense and the importance of it to perform. I know today that I made a great choice and have an exceptional system. It was easy to install following simple instructions like 1) download app 2) register 3) turn on and pair cameras. The camera picture and field of view are awesome, they can just sit or magnetic mount and all of the camera features are simple to customize through the app or online. I feel safe knowing that my premises are monitored, that alerts are pushed to my phone and cameras viewable from anywhere. Recordings are saved free to cloud and can be saved locally if needed. I feel it is also an adequate deterrent also. I only wish they provided more of the "Video Monitoring is in Progress" window warnings for me to display.

I've had this system for two weeks (and will come back if reevaluate if needed). SUPER easy set up. I was up and running in just a few minutes. Bought some accessories (Amazon) to make some cameras wired for the added features of zones. I have one camera inside my home, and three outside. My entire home (exterior) is covered by these cameras. I bought this system because I was unnerved at an individual who approached me and claimed to 'love the look of my house' and felt the need to bring people by to see it. He's been back and I now have him on video thanks to these cameras. Videos were easy to download and share with local police. No added subscription at this time, tho there are some options available. I've also busted my cat on the counter so many times. I thought she was a good girl. Nope. I'm so happy I have this system!!! Phone app is great and logging in from the web is also great!

The Arlo Pro 2 cameras and accompanying system work perfectly for me! Installation and set up were a breeze - as the instructions were easy to follow. We have a home in the foothills of the mountains in Alaska, that uses satellite internet service. The marriage of the two systems work flawlessly! Exactly what I had been told to expect from Arlo! I’m very pleased with this purchase!
