Bought the Arlo pro 2 security camera system to add some security to my home. Best buy price matched the Amazon sale price so saved an extra $30 off the price on Best Buy. The cameras were easy to set up and came pre charged from the factory. No issues so far except needing to tweak the camera sensitivity as they get triggered too easily which can be either good or bad I suppose. Either way they are a solid camera security system and do recommend.

I had the original 720p arlo cams that took batteries but got tired of spending $40 for them each time they needed new ones. I cannot believe that the "1080p" cameras have worse night vision than the original 720p cameras. I compared them side by side . I dont see a huge difference in picture quality either. It seems as though Netgear rushed and jumbled together some new material and marketed and hyped these updated versions with half truths. I have had these 1080p cams for a few months and have only charged them once. There have been several outages with Arlo servers that render the recording and monitoring useless and this becomes an annoyance and big concern sometimes. However, the APP is real good in my opinion and easy to set up and work around. Netgear continues to update features on it which is nice. I see that they are really trying to make these products stand above the competition. I just wish there was more focus on making the night vision at the very least, better than the previous versions. This is an issue reported on Netgears forums and even on these reviews below. Overall, the arlo cameras are a good investment to protect your place! Basic Cloud service does not cost anything which is awesome for most people..i hope it stays that way... Netgear continues to advance and improve on their services and app. The recording in motion could be a little faster as there is a 3 to 5 second lag before recording starts after detection. Sometimes the cameras dont record important things like people walking up to my door but only their backs when they walk away. But, overall, the app is dependable and i enjoy using it and this system gives me added peace of mind. Couple this with an alarm system! Netgear will be releasing a 4k version which sounds awesome. I hope they improve the night vision on those!

Well what can I say they are epic. For what they cost they should be but really nice small so they fit in tight areas. Picture quality is great but you have to have a really nice TV or phone to get the clarity.

Bought after reading several reviews and Q&As on several sites. This is easy to set up and get working right away. Wish it came with a manual, but it can be found online, but no thanks to any information in box. But no worry, it is easy to operate even before you read the manual. Resolution is clear and night vision is excellent. It is nice to have a security system that you don't have to hire a company or pay a monthly fee to store your information. There are additional upgrade options if you so desire. I currently have 2 cameras mounted and move 2 around depending on what my needs are. Yes, I have used one as a wildlife camera to observe what was coming into my yard at night. LOL! And it is easy to add others to your system.

Much worse than the original pro. Nightvision is hazy and grainy. Doesn't illuminate as well as the original pro. Multiple issues of devices going offline. Tried everything and arlo custoomer service wasn't able to help. Reading online this is happening to a lot of people. This is a pic of the nightvision

These ARLO security cameras are the real deal. Easy to install and the batteries last for months between charges. I only have them inside my house but just two cameras are positioned to detect any motion by any of the three doors into the first floor. My wife has always been paranoid about people who may come into the house, but even she feels Arlo will pick up any one entering while we are gone. With decent light, the images are very clear.

    It's ok

To start off, this is a pricey system. I bought it because it's truly wireless and the 7 days of free storage. That is plenty of storage for my needs. It's very easy to set up as well. I installed two cameras on the front of the house. They are constantly triggered by plants swaying in the breeze during the day. This reduces my battery life to about a week. At night, bugs are constantly fluttering around setting them off as well. Not sure if the IR frequency used for night vision is attracting them. Even setting the sensitivity to the lowest setting doesn't not help. In my case, objects moving in the background are not picked up but my landscaping and shadows from moving plants still set the cameras off with low sensitivity setting. If I plug them into a power outlet, I have the option to set motion zones. The cameras will focus for motion in these zones. This defeats the sole purpose I bought a truly wireless system. Because of this, I give it 3 stars. It's expensive and you probably will need to plug them into an outlet if you have objects, in view of the cameras, that will constantly be moving in the breeze or making moving shadows. If I knew I would have to plug them into an outlet, I would have gone with a way cheaper dvr system. If you have a similar landscape situation as myself, I don't reccomend this system.

The setup was super easy and the app is pretty intuitive. The video quality is good but the motion detection is sometimes triggered too late. The night video capabilities are somewhat limited. The positives include the local storage in times that internet is not available. The cloud backup with a week of free storage are a huge positives. Overall I'm pretty pleased with the purchase.

I have a couple cameras that white out when looking at it. For a short time during motion it may be very clear picture but then it like washes out like a bright light is in the way. Tried many angles.

After having these in place for several months I’ve only had to charge the two most active cameras. The video quality is excellent. Did have an issue where I lost connection to one of the cameras after a power outage but a restart easily fixed that. Definitely recommend for a simple home surveillance system. Was disappointed that they went on sale on a daily deal about a month after I purchased but that seems to be my luck.

I like the app for my iPhone that lets me see what is going on. The delay is enough that by the time you get it live then whoever it is has moved on. The quality is good but not exceptional for any face recognition. Battery does not last as long if in an area where cars going by or trees moving keep it activating. Tweaking settings on the website which offers more than the phone app and some issues are better.

I absolutely love these cameras! The picture on them is such an upgrade from my horrible Xfinity 1MP. Love the 2way talk feature. My kids put there face right in front of it as they talk to me it's a riot! Battery life is amazing. I guess my only con is the packages you have to subscribe to for cloud storage kind of pricey.

The Arlo Pro 2 is a great camera for home surveillance. There is a few seconds delay on the videos and audio but the quality of videos are great. The battery is a huge plus for me and anyone that wants to be able to place the camera anywhere without being limited by placing them only where outlets are available. I live in northern New Hampshire and was worried about the extreme cold temperatures. So far we’ve had -10 and the battery held up pretty good. At that temperature, it does take a couple of minutes to access the camera because the battery is always warming up the camera. Still a great purchase. I definitely recommend it

Like others who have reviewed the Arlo2 is very easy to setup. My delay was in placement of four cameras outside of home. Since supports 5 bought additional camera for indoor use which also came with another charger. Although would've been nice to learn maximum hard drive supported for usb ports is 2 tb since uses fat 32 to format drives. (I bought 4 tb hd when purchased this unit now using in a different application). I went with the 1080 vs 720 p and video quality is good. Night time infared is black and white and objects have to bee closer to camera for recognition. Sometimes found delay when walking in field of view but that maybe adjusted also.

The Arlo security system is the best out there by far. Clear picture, easy set up and no hassle at all. The only thing I suggest is buy the solar panels for the cameras that will have high traffic. The solar panels are a easy set up as well. The camera comes fully charged but I would suggest to charge it anyway so that way you work with a 100% battery just in case. Don’t buy an extra charging station you don’t need that either. I was convinced that’ll I’ll need it but the charger that comes with the cameras works just as good. I when u do need to charge the camera it takes about 2 hours so I would suggest don’t let it go past 37%.

Work as advertised. Great picture. Fair night vision, can buy IR lights to help. They have good range and are 100% wireless. Batteries last a couple months in high traffic zones. What they didn’t tell me is you need good internet speeds . I live in the woods so I’m limited on speeds. So I have a delay on the live feed, like 30-120 seconds. If you have good internet speeds it is awesome. No wires. Sets up in no time.
