The video quality is impressive during the day and night. You have hear everything. Id say the only down fall is the speaker isn't loud enough to talk through it if needed. It picks up more sound then it projects. It has a wide lens capture. Easy to charge, easy to adjust as its held in place by magnet. The footage dashboard is very user friendly. Setting it up can be tricky but I had my husband figure that part out and it didn't take him more then 10 mins

Battery life almost as advertised - 1080p doesnt look much better than 720p - long lag time through server not even close to real-time, the speaker / mic. Is worthless. Whoever tou think you are talking to is gone by the time it connects.

Easy to set up (no wires), captures footage well (night vision is pretty good), and relatively low priced (bought it on sale). Downside is the battery only lasted about a month before I needed to take it off the wall mount and connect the camera to a charger. Might become a hassle if the camera is hard to reach.

The cameras are clear and good quality. They are sensitive to motion, which can be adjusted. Biggest complaint is the batteries have to be changed in high motion areas a lot. Other than that the camera is a great quality and super easy to set up. I love that I can see the video playback right from my phone!

Picture clarity, ajustable field of vision, on/off options and 7 day Cloud w/o fees are plenty of reasons to own the Arlo Pro 2

I purchased the Arlo system because it is wireless and this review solely commenting on the Arlo system's performance in a wireless setting. While Arlo serves a purpose, mainly as a deterrent, it is not worth the price. Let's start with the pros - it is fairly easy to set up and it comes with 7 days of free storage (for up to 5 cameras) with an app that generally works. Now on to the cons: range, motion detection, battery life and video quality. Range: it is pitiful - Arlo has trouble reaching one of the outside cameras that is 20 feet from the base station (and I don't live in Ft. Knox). Options to extend are convoluted and more $$$ - it is all based on the base station range, not your wifi signal. Spend $80 on another based plus a wifi extender to give you a hard wired connection. If you don't have a strong signal (full 3 bars), then expect video to be choppy at best. Motion detection: it detects, but it takes 3-5 seconds to start recording. It also has trouble detecting things towards the outside of the video frame. Battery life: I purchased two solar power panels for Arlo's and I live in TX with lots of sun. I still have to charge the cameras every month or two. Without the solar, my outdoor cameras would not even last two weeks. Video quality: here is where Arlo really disappoints, the video quality when something actually happens and you want to zoom in on something is just not there. Maybe with 4K one day it will be better, but I cannot clearly see a face that is more than 10-12 feet away from the camera... and even then, it's not great. I feel that Arlo needs to work on their software (free and paid) and hardware because both need significant improvements. My advice, would be to save the money and look for alternatives that are less. This system was just not worth the money I paid for it. Maybe if is was 50% less and I would buy it again.

The Arlo HD is a great Wi-Fi wireless camera system. Capable of both indoor and outdoor applications. Good quality video and motion detection. Great option for challenging applications where it will be difficult to provide constant power or POE to other camera systems. Battery life is decent but will deplete quickly in high use applications. I would recommend using the extra battery options to enable quick battery swap outs.

The video quality is great! Sound quality is great! The notifications on my smartphone makes me very comfortable with my homes security.

I was enticed by the Black Friday week price and reviews were good. Friends have the Pro and real liked. These deliver great video, so much better than the Pro. So easy to setup and use. Geo-fencing works great. Attached power cables to two of them and the video starts 5 seconds before the detection. Only problem is I can't figure out how to stop a spider spinning a web at 2 am from setting off an audio notification on my Echo Show 5!

Bought this to replace my home alarm system and service, which I never used. It’s been 2 months and so far I am really pleased with it. Simple to set up and activate on the app. I could even give access to my wife so she gets the same notifications that I do. Cameras were easy to install and the quality of video is great. Best thing about it is that it will store the video for seven days without signing up for the cloud service.

Got a fair price on this system and it came with a 7 day rotation cloud recording for free (not sure they do that anymore). Also allows local USB key copy as well. They are sensitive so you have to dial them back a bit or they pick up everything. System works well whether at home or away for the cloud. You can also get reasonable priced recording for a month $5 if you want more than 7 days. You can download recordings to your computer or cell phone to save forever if you wish. Reason for 4 stars is the batteries have to be changed the more they record things - so if you have windy days and bushes move, be ready to recharge the battery once a month or so. In the winter batteries can last longer due to less leaves. But wind noise can set them off as well. If you pay the $5 per month you get more options like only going off if a certain area in the camera view is crossed. You can also buy and hook up to electric so not have to recharge batts and can continuous record if so - but that could get expensive for the wiring install.

All in all I like the product. I’m hoping the battery life lasts longer in the warmer months. I thought about charging stations and extra batteries but they are very expensive. I would recommend this system. The picture is quite clear on my phone and the recordings are clear as well.

Great camera with high-quality and sharp resolution. Battery won't last that long per describe. I have tried a different setting but seem like the battery only last for the most 5 days in most locations I have set. It is not 100% wireless, you still have to wire the ethernet cable to the hub.

Good clarity on the cameras. Love that they were wireless and did not have to have somebody come out and drill holes in my house. Batteries are lasting a long time, great night vision. Alarm inside home would definitely scare someone off. Recommended it to my brother he bought one extremely happy as well.

This is a very good system... it does everything well, and is easy to set up. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase. It would be 5/5 if it recorded a little clearer video and wasn’t so pricey. Yes I know there is an “ultra” out now - it’s too pricey and has some monthly costs associated.

I use it both wired and wireless. Just make sure to have fast internet. For the people that have att internet service, you might have alot of issues using this camera wireless. I would recommend Comcast internet service if you decide to use this wireless. The siren feature is loud. I really like the arlo application update, new features are usually added. For me the battery life using wireless is around 2 months, then I had to recharge. I started to use it wired and had no issues so far.

This system is for my home. I'm used to the regular surveillance cameras I use in my stores but didnt want to run wiring for them. Arlo is so much easier to set up and configure. The only bump was that during the initial camera pairing the hub wanted a firmware update and then one for the cameras. While it's doing that you can't do much other than wait. Once you're past that it's all easy. Video quality is really good. The mobile client works as expected. All in all, a good purchase.

Waited for it to go on sale as it is over priced for what it does. Best thing is the ability to store on a local USB drive when internet is down. The siren is at the base station and really needs to be at the camera side of things. Video quality is good but you CAN live with the 720 and not need the 1080 bringing the cost down which is the only difference between the arlo pro and pro 2. Online storage is good and the basic which is free is enough for most people. The base is really a netgear router that you have no access to so you will see another router in your spectrum in the 2.4 range. Does NOT function in the 5.0 range. The setup was also super simple but if the battery dies you will need to resync the camera to the base. The battery last for about 1 to 2 months with constant movement recording. Take a look at the Reolink which is similar. Less money on front end but cloud storage is more. Happy with the item at the discounted price and Best Buy does stand behind what they sell.

This is the 15 set I have installed for myself, family and friends. Every part is easy to setup and install. iPhone app is easier to setup than android, but works great once it is set up. I have installed cameras in trees, on a pole barn over 100’ from the house and in a basement to see where a squirrel was getting in. Everyone loves them. Any reviews I have read that were bad or negative, I believe was do to bad internet or not understanding the batteries. To get the distance from the base, you may need to upgrade you wifi signal. That has nothing to do with Arlo and the cameras, it’s on your internet. Batteries work great. For high motion areas you can plug them in to any power outlet. You may have to get a longer power cord or get an outlet installed near the camera. I have 7 cameras at my own house. When I get an alert a camera battery is low, I switch it with a extra camera I have on my work bench that is always plugged in. Takes less than 5 minutes to switch any of them out. Some cameras get charged once a month, high motion areas with recording on. Others have gone 6 months or more without having to charge them, back and side yard, not a lot of motion. First set I installed was in our house in Florida, over 5 years ago. Still working great. I did run power to the cameras outside. About a year ago I put them on our house in upstate NY on Lake Ontario. I have not noticed any issues caused by the weather. Snow, rain, wind and extremely cold, no problems. Also love that I can watch our dog and talk through the cameras. See when packages get delivered from the alert. Talk to and see someone when the doorbell is pushed.
