    It's Great When It Works

We loved our cameras when we first got it up and installed. Installation was easy and quick. It was very helpful there were 2 different types of mounts. The only trouble we are having is when the camera detects motion. We've adjusted the settings, we've changed the angle of the camera. But sometimes it just doesn't indicated someone is within view of the camera. If it worked 100% of the time, it would be perfect.

Good camera system. Easily set up and has clear good picture. We did turn down sensitivity because it even picks up some sounds. Amazing to see what is in the yard at night to, Cats possums etc.

These cameras are super easy to install. The picture quality is awesome. It has one huge downfall, which is why I won’t give it 5 stars: If you want to run it wirelessly, you cannot set up zones. So if you have your system armed when not home, it will notify you every time anything moves. You’ll get so many notifications that you’ll disarm the system. If someone from the company reads this, please explain why you can only set up zones if they are hard wired?

The camera system was quite easy to install compared to a wired system. If you live in a neighborhood with a lot of traffic, the alerts will drive you crazy. But, they are easy to deactivate if you choose. You can set zones for less alerts with a paid subscription. Also, with high traffic areas, the cameras tend to need charging but still take a month with a lot. Low traffic areas tend to last around 2 months before charge. Video and sound is crystal clear.

Camera kit is easy to install and set up. We bought the kit for additional security for our boat that stays at the marina. We installed the kit Thursday evening before we left and got an alert at 4:00 Saturday morning that an intruder was on our boat. We were able to watch and record his movements in real time as he rummaged around and left with a couple of items. The recordings were stored in the system which allowed us to review them and zoom in enough (even though they were somewhat distorted) to get screen shots of his face and several distinguishing tattoos for the police. As mentioned, one negative thing is the intruder was within 10 feet of the camera, but it seems the more we zoomed in on the recording the more distorted the guys face became. I'm not sure if this is a camera problem, operator error, a problem with the transfer from video to still or it may be the fact the cameras appear to be recording in wide angle and the quality is lost when trying to zoom in closer. Whatever it is, it's somewhat disappointing that we weren't able to zoom in and get a clearer photo considering the recording is so clear from a distance. The close up was clear enough to identify the guy, but with him being so close to the camera and the recording being so clear I would have thought we would be able to zoom in on a zit without any distortion.

After a rash of vehicle break ins I purchased these cameras and installed them with the permanent wiring. One of the cameras kept going off line and had to be replaced. The video quality is excellent, the audio however lacks significantly. The fact that there is a rolling recording of the alerts is sufficient for most needs, without having to purchase on-line storage. I DO wish that the doorbell had a built in camera vice having to have two more devises.

so I have also done a lot of research before buying the security system like all of you. I saw people talking about battery backup and all. Arlo pro 2’s battery does last 2-3 months but common guys, you can charge that 4 times a year if you need to. other than that it’s pretty good image quality but it’s not like 4k where you see everything but its good for a security system, you can see if anyone doesn’t pick dog poop from your yard, it’s easy to install. would recommend..

Easy setup and installation. No wires to run. Had up and running in 30 minutes. Would give 5 stars, but it occasionally fogs up just before morning light (there is a proposed solution, have yet to try it) and a longer rechargeable battery life would be nice; change battery about every 30 days. iPhone and browser app work very well.

I’m not impressed. The wireless cameras are constantly losing connection, I can’t ever seem to access my library, I set one of my cameras to “people only” for recording, but it notifies me with every noise or movement making my phone to constantly ding. This also causes the battery on the camera to drain faster. If I had to do it all over again, I would have it hard wired.

Very crips, vivid stream and video. The batteries last months under normal usage. The speaker is very good and loud enough to hear well. The app integration works great as well. The 7 day free cloud storage is an unbeatable bonus. The lag is minimal only 2-3 seconds max. Motion detection is one of the better ones I have experienced in comparison with Nest IQ and Ring Pro HD (Ring Pro HD has the best motion detection overall). The wireless set up is extremely easy. I can't say enough how I am pleased with the system. The only negative is a slight wash out of image on night vision if there is total darkness. The image is more vibrant than the Nest IQ in which I own as well. Both cameras have their advantages. Overall this is a fantastic system. You can't go wrong with Arlo Pro 2 at all.

I am no gadget geek by any means. The set up was easy, the set up of the cameras was easy, the set up of the app and use is very easy simple to do. And an every day Joe can handle this. Beautiful camera and recording. Easy to zoom in using the app. The hardest thing about the whole set up is the placement of the cameras to get to view that you want.

Good - these were easy to setup out of the box. Bad - definitely not 1080p. I'm not able to zoom in on faces clearly. Other - I'm covering a large area so used WiFi repeaters and they don't like to stay connected to the extended networks. Its hit and miss if the furthest one will go live but seems to capture all the recordings. Also it would be nice to be able to actually secure the cameras as the security mounts just screw into the camera.
