Easy to set up and configure mainly because they are wireless. Video is good and their cloud free storage is a nice addition. Something other companies like Nest will charge you.

I bought this for my new residence and also to view what wildlife comes into my large yard during the night time, especially since I have a large flock of chickens and have had problems with coyotes and foxes coming in an killing my chickens. This has preformed exceptionally well I like that I can move the cameras around to different areas as needed. I just wish that it would maintain a charge on the camera longer than a week in very active areas. But I will work on that problem as I get more familiar with all the bells and whistles on these. Sometimes I wish I had more than 6 cameras.

Would be nice if you had the option to set up zones or even record 24/7 on batteries, right now it must be plugged into power. I understand why, battery life, but I would rather charge the batteries every month vs installing power outlets near the cameras for power. Mine have been running in motion detection mode for 1.5 months and batteries are still at 70%. For 1080 resolution, I’m really not impressed, I still get a lot of pixelation or “squares”in my video. If the police needed my video to identify a burglar, they would probably laugh if I gave them my footage from the Arlo Pro 2 cameras. The night vision is terrible, my cameras are mounted around my house at gutter height on a 1 story house. Effective night vision is about 10 linear feet from the point of installation. I leave extra lights on the exterior of the house to help but it really doesn’t do much. Overall I’m happy with the purchase, this is my first wireless system, as far as video quality and features, If I had it to do over again, I’d probably just buy another wired system for half the price of my Arlo Pro 2 system with 4 cameras. FYI, as with most camera systems, if the power goes out, you would need an UPS for your camera base station and your Wi-Fi router. A UPS connected to your base station only will record data if you have a micro SD card installed but you will not receive any notifications or cloud data without your internet set up on UPS as well.

So far this is a really nice system. The video is really good but if you have any moving trees, plants or flowers, the cameras will capture it and you will burn through the battery quickly. I ended up buying the power supplies so I can keep them plugged in and set zones to avoid the bushes. If you don’t want to wire them, I’d plan to buy the plan from Arlo so you can set zones (I may do that anyway).

I really struggled with getting the camera setup in a way where I would get alerts, not be flooded with alerts I didn't want and having it miss things altogether. I mounted the camera by my front door and it was basically impossible to get everything I needed to cover and not include at least part of the street. Obliviously I didn't want to record every car going down the street. So I set up "activity zones" and smart alerts in order to get this done....which costs $3 a month. Well worth it. It took a few days and testing before I set up the activity zones in a way that would consistently work. I found that setting up more than one didn't work well at all. It had a tendency to not record anything. I set up smart alerts to record a vehicle in the driveway but not alert. Also with animals and "other" as well. The only time I set to alert is when it detected a person. A couple of side notes...anything that interrupts the recording (like viewing or another recording) it will stop. Do yourself a favor and attach a hard drive or flash drive to the Arlo hub so that it will capture the recordings in the event of an internet outage and another form of backup. The file sizes are pretty small...even a 64GB flash drive would do the trick. Overall I love the product for the $199 I spent on sale. But it requires a bit of patience to configure...but once it is running, it has been running smoothly... Arlo is promising Apple Homekit support and I really hope they follow through.

This is a great wireless video surveillance system. However, be aware the batteries only last about a week. So consider the solar panels or running power cords if you don’t want to constantly recharge the batteries.

Good cameras for the price. Easy setup. Convenient for those who don’t want to run wires through the house. Only issue at times is the random loss of connection that occasionally happens. The voice communication feature is nice when it works but I notice on the pro 2s it’s a little buggy. The Arlo ultra was a good answer to all the issues with the older models.

This camera system was easy to install and configure. Cameras plugged into a steady power source work great. However, the battery does not last anywhere close to advertised. Additionally, the cameras running on battery power are also slow to start recording. There is a considerable amount of time that passes from a motion event and a notification on my phone regardless of the camera power source.

simple to setup. at our last house we had wired cameras and they are much nicer and less hassle once installed but much more difficult to install than these. setup of Arlo cameras is simple. depending on how many times they are triggered battery last a week to 2+ months. accessing videos online is easy as well with Arlo app. For a wireless camera it seems like a nice system.

This system works great once you get used to the app. My mother got a 2 pack setup and I spent hours trying to get it to work. Their customer service was absolutely horrible. It turned out to be a defective base station. Again, Netgears customer service was one of the worst I have experienced but I am happy with my current system. No wires!!!

Overall this is a good system with good online management. I was a little disappointed that the delay in the camera actually reading motion. Certain intrusions or thefts could happen before the camera actually records the event. Additionally, I find it interesting that this was never mentioned in any of the many reviews written by highly respected sources. Maybe I expected too much.

I got the Arlo Pro 2 set after reviewing different options, I have no regrets to had purchased it. After connecting base and waiting for updates, everything went very easy to connect all cameras... application is very easy to use and customize... Its a shame Arlo does not have Smart Premier plans available in Mexico.. other than that, love the crystal image from the 1080 cameras and the push notifications....
