No Free Cloud Storage
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.My brother was talked into buying this for me for my birthday, after I told him only that I wanted another add-on camera. The Best Buy rep told him it was a better camera all around, and still works with the Pro 2 base station (which I have). To be fair, the image is much clearer and better range of view. What was failed to be mentioned was that the 7 day cloud storage that was (and still is) included with Pro 2 cameras is not included with Pro 3 cameras. It also doesn't state that clearly on the box! Sure, there's a free trial of Arlo Smart which includes cloud storage, but on the Pro 2 cameras, Arlo Smart just gave you additional features. How were we supposed to know? That is borderline deception, to use the same name but provide a different service. Once you find out that you were deceived, it's too late to return! The Pro 3 Camera is useless now; I won't subscribe out of principle.

To get video captures on alarm with this camera you need to buy a monthly subscription. Same with the Ultra based products. Camera should be near free if your going to be tied to a subscription plan for it's life! Marginally improved picture over the Arlo pro 2 cameras in my case. I would go with a solution that has free capture or can send (text/email) you a clip on alarm if no cloud host included.
