Cameras work great. But the customer service not so much. Our free trial ended at midnight and the cameras wouldn’t show anything. Just made sound. Couldn’t hear customer service person her voice was to low.

Excellent system it does pick up movement when there aren’t any. Love how there is different option for motion detection. Lag is not as bad as my old camera system. Battery life drains faster I changed my front and back door at least twice in 2 months. That’s because of “movement” that it detected

Excellent cameras and a definite improvement for nighttime viewing over my Pro 2 cameras. Also, I like the easy to swap out battery for a freshly charged battery over the remove camera to plug in for a few hours as I do with my Pro 2, tho my Pro 2 cameras have worked flawlessly for several years.....no complaints here!!!

    Slightly less than just ehh…..

It’s just Ehh….. The cameras are either way too sensitive or not sensitive enough, the video quality is so-so to poor and unless you subscribe to their monthly service. The feed is laggy and it takes a while to make the initial connection. The only thing you end up with after the trial is real time imaging. There is no more history. There is no more adjusting the motion zones, so anything that gets anywhere near the cameras view sets it off. Think of it as a delayed bait and switch. They are ALMOST worth the $400+ for 3 cameras until the trial subscription runs out. For the monthly cost of the subscription you can pretty much get an entire security system with cameras, electronic doorbell, etc from one of the alarm companies. E we are disappointed enough that we’re going to remove them and buy from a reputable company.

First of all, these are not my first Wi-Fi cameras but they are my first battery operated Wi-Fi cameras. The cameras are great, but the battery life is not all what's advertised. With minimal use, notifications every now and then, battery life is at best a week or 2, far from what's advertised. That being said, I went ahead and purchased solar panels made especially for these cameras which turned out to be the best idea ever.

Bought these to use inside for use for family member with dementia. Set up was super easy, even for me who is not smart with tech stuff. Love the ability to arm the system for away, while at home and then stand-bye. Still learning all the capabilities.

Stuck with Arlo because of my other cameras - still butt hurt that they charge so much for monthly service and they end of life my previous cameras. Had to completely rebuy for all my locations. Also, one camera would not install and they made me take down the other cameras and return the entire set instead of replacing the one bad camera.

Easy to install. Battery life could last a little longer but the problem could be the position of my camera as it constantly picks up my dog running back and forth.

They were easy to install. I did not know about the monthly subscription though in order for it to work and keep the camera feeds going. That is now a monthly bill added to my budget. And one of the batteries does not work anymore. So that will have to be replaced.

This product works great overall but I was under the impression that I would be able to view motion activity like I can on my old Arlo cameras. Come to find out there is a monthly fee to view motion activity on the cameras and that is very disappointing. Thanks for leading me on for 3 months Arlo

Nice Cameras - Terrible Battery Life

I had high hopes for this product based on all the reviews I'd read. And the truth is, the cameras are nice, with a decent set of features - a 4- to 5-star set of features. However... I will never purchase them again, nor any other product made by Arlo. Battery life is abysmal. In fact, it is bad enough that I've come to consider the cameras barely a 1-star product. I have four Arlo Pro 4 cameras deployed. I have a complete set of spare batteries for the cameras. I find myself swapping batteries every 3-7 days to keep these cameras functional. I've turned off the spotlights, turned off sound, made sure both camera and base station firmware was up to date, and generally done just about everything else recommended to "extend" battery life, all without noticeable improvement. Is poor battery life the result of user error? You decide. Prior to retiring, I was a systems engineer for a telecommunications company, so spent a good deal of my career working with technology, including hands-on troubleshooting of every sort of problem you might imagine, inclusive of power-related problems. As for batteries and battery life, I've used lithium battery technology for years, in household gadgets, cell phones - you name it. I've even retrofitted an older RV for use with lithium batteries. I'm that guy whose cell phone battery still works 2-3 years after everyone else has replaced their battery or phone. And yet, Arlo Pro 4 battery life has defeated my every effort at resolution. There is one piece of advice I have not tried, and that is to separate cameras from one another. That is difficult to do in my case. What I can tell you is that these cameras replaced those of another manufacturer (whose battery life actually delivered months at a stretch in the middle of Alaskan winter conditions) - the Arlo cameras are actually futher apart that the cameras they replaced. If Arlo has a solution to achieve something closer to the "up to 6 months" of battery life it advertises, I'd love to hear it. Just sayin' I don't know how Arlo earned the reputation it has, but in my opinion, bad battery life offsets any and every plus their products might otherwise have going for them. If I'd thought to google "Arlo battery life" before purchasing, I'd have realized this was a widespread and widely reported issue, and one without any advertised fix. Bottom line: your mileage may vary, but I wouldn't recommend buying Arlo Pro 4 unless you happen to enjoy hauling the stepladder out every few days to swap batteries.
