I have had experience with Vivint and ADT but was looking for something without the monthly fee. I bought these on the advice from a friend but wish I hadn't. I am constantly losing connectivity to them, even though my WiFi is reliable and well within range. The most comically infuriating aspect of these is they seem to lose connectivity when I receive a notification that there is an even that was captured. So I know there was an event, I just can't see the event. I have the base station backup that is also laughably unreliable, but that's a story for a separate review... Bottom line, I can't recommend these cameras to anyone who actually wants a reliable security system. The cameras themselves might deter some crime by their very presence, but I have to say, if I was looking to burgle a home, if I saw the sign that said, "Protected by Arlo" I would probably burgle that residence.

Don’t like how often the batter needs to be recharged. One of the cameras needed to be recharged within 4 days of use. I have since adjusted the notification for motion on camera but battery still goes down daily quick. Wish battery life would last longer.
