Battery last a week

Rendered completely useless. before it died the motion detection was good, The quality couldn’t complain but this battery is terrible , It turns out my return window closed 2 days and idk if it’s a battery issue or camera issue, Either way I’m not satisfied.

Posted .The Arlo Pro 4 Wireless Security Camera battery lasts up to 6 months with Average use. Average use assumes that you are using Optimized or Best Battery Life video settings and that your cameras record for approximately five minutes per day. Too many triggers such as heavy traffic may cause the battery to drain much more rapidly. You can try adjusting your cameras positioning to lowering the sensitivity to a desired level to help with unwanted motion detection. Range may also affect the cameras battery performance. Having the device too far away from the Smart Hub or Router may have a negative affect on the battery performance. You can place your Arlo camera Hi Mikey, a maximum of 300 feet (90 meters) from the SmartHub or base station. The maximum line-of-sight range of 300 feet is reduced by each wall, ceiling, or other major obstruction between the camera and base station. The following materials reduce signal strength the most:
Large quantities of water, such as the water in a fish tank or water heater, Metal, Glass, especially, mirrors, Ceramic, Stone, Concrete, Brick, Unusually thick walls and ceilings. Regards, Arlo Team

I do use the features that it offers and bought the dual charger as well. I have been using it a month. Usage of the battery doesn’t last according to what is stated on the instructions. I work Tech Support. The cameras will not connet to the network, walked through steps on Arlo website. Did additional searches for information with same results. It appears many customers are having this issue. The devic is seen by the network and on my phone but camera will not connect, made sure it is connecting to 2.4 and not 5G. I am not going to jump through hoops, bend over backwards or spend hours trying to connect these cameras to a network. If they are that finicky....easy option return and buy different cameras. The manual is lacking information. The info included with the devices are very basic. I am also reading about all the lose of connections when a customer is able to connect to a network. I know I have a very good network and have no connection problems After further research I am reading about all the battery issues.

So we waited for a great sale (it is a super system at full price...lol) Had the Geek Squad install it as we have Total tech....it is awesome.... I will tell you I have an active back yard when we are home (I work from home and have 2 BIG fur kids ) so I found out quickly how fast the batteries can burn down..truthfully the deck yard camera lasted 2 weeks....so I found out that turning off my notifications during those times has helped...operation is somewhat a trial & error process (for me at least) and I have not checked yet as to what the recording will cost yet as you get a 3-4 month "trial" so far we LOVE THIS so much we had a second system installed at a 2nd home...GO ARLO......

Potential downside is that if power to your router or modem goes out, you won’t be able to receive mobile / remote notifications that something triggered the motion detection.
