Incredibly easy to install and set up with excellent instructions. The camera works wonderfully and has a long battery life!

The app doesnt work correctly and arlo support wont help.

Gen 2 of the Arlo doorbell provides quite a few nice upgrades over Gen 1: * NO MORE SMART HUB! YAY!! Arlo finally figured out people know how to manage their own wifi and you're no longer tied to the abysmal coverage of their "Smart" Hub. Now that I don't have to use it, the connection to my doorbell is rock-solid through my mesh network. This means no more "scrambled" pictures coming through like with Gen1 * Upgraded picture quality - 2k picture quality means you have a larger field of view than with Gen1 and can also see more detail. The doorbell, of course, is best used w/ Arlo's subscription which enables person/package recognition and is required if you get more than 3 Arlo devices up and running. Additionally w/ the Gen2 doorbell, Arlo refreshed their app tremendously. So far I am liking the ability to create a custom dashboard w/ my own "widgets" (cameras, etc.) of various sizes so I can see what I want to see at a quick glance. The other nice thing about the new Gen2 is it comes with Doorbell wire extensions - this was required for me as the wires to my doorbell are extremely brittle and I've barely any left after monkeying w/ the Gen1 doorbell more than a few times over the years. My only complaint with this doorbell is that upgrading over Gen1 means new holes in your house; they didn't make it fit the same footprint/hole template as Gen1. This is a bit of a miss in my opinion as there's really no reason the holes couldn't have been in the same place, despite needing a new, larger, mounting bracket.

For some time now I’ve been wanting to get a video doorbell for our home but have been holding off as I generally dislike running cabling/wiring and I’m not an electrician so I prefer to not get shocked while playing with electrical wiring. However, this Arlo 2K video doorbell allowed me to install it the built in battery power until I could get a family member (my uncle) to come over and help me wire it up. That said since we already had a wired doorbell it was insanely easy to wire this up. I could have done it myself with how easy it was but again I don’t like playing with wiring, it’s why 99% of our home security equipment is wire-free (power) and wireless (network connectivity). But it’s seriously easy with just a couple of wires. The quality of the picture is super nice and I’m glad we have it because we can keep an eye on the packages being delivered at our home while we are away, plus we can screen who is at the door without having to go to the door or open the door. Due to the current state of affairs in the world today that is a welcome addition to our home security setup. I cannot say enough how easy it is to install, no matter which method you decide to use to install it and so setup is truly a breeze.

I have been wanting a smart doorbell to go along with my front-door camera that I already have installed, and I am happy to share that this Arlo Smart Doorbell has meet my needs and provided more features than I was expecting and will probably not use regularly. First, the unboxing and installation process was super easy. I decided to go with the wireless option and purchased the Arlo Chime 2 to pair it with. The pairing and installation was fast and smooth just as it should be. Arlo’s app and software is also very intuitive and easy to navigate. I already had an account so I just signed in and added this device to my list of devices and I was quickly seeing the video shown from the 2k camera in the doorbell. Features like the night vision and the 2k camera are essential to be able to see a clear picture. In addition, the 2-way audio feature is nice but I honestly don’t think I will be using this that much. I don’t foresee myself using this to communicate to people at my door. It’s cool that is there, but I feel like that’s just too much for me. If I am not home then I’m just not home, no need to speak to someone waiting at my door. I can’t speak to how long the battery lasts since I just recently installed it, but fingers crossed this thing will last more than a couple of months without needing to be charged again or else I’ll probably have to wire it in.

Great choice, especially if you already have an Arlo eco-system. In our situation, we have an investment property in North Charleston, South Carolina. We bought it since our son was going to be there in the U.S. Navy Nuke Engineer program. We figured he could live there while he is school (just three short months and he'll be done!) and then rent it out to future US Navy Nukes. That said, we already have a portable Arlo Smart Alrm system that can easily be installed in his next permanent station. Being a submarine volenteer (sub vol)the existing alarm and the doorbell camera will give us some ability monitor his next house/condo when he deploys. This is a great addition to that system. Installation is simple... Two wires and a screwdriver then mount it. Whole thing took less than five minutes. IMPORTANT NOTE: While we installed in a wired environment, this Arlo camera/doorbell does have a battery option allowing multiple options and environments. The video quality and build quality are good, especially for the price. End of the day, this offers a a very good optio in a relativelly robust system and a good price. I would (and have) reccomend to a friend.

This Arlo video doorbell goes way beyond the others. Video clarity is excellent. I used the Alexa skill to link the doorbell. Now, when anyone comes to my door, Alexa announces it by motion detection. When someone rings the bell, all my ech dot devices chime, with my choice of chime sound. You'll always k ow when packages arrive and when your mail is delivered. Outstanding!

I’ve had a ring camera for almost 4 years. I recently had someone break into my car no more than 10 feet from my camera and it didn’t pick up anything. After losing everything that was in my car I got recommended the arlo so i figured id try it and it is working phenomenally! Crystal clear picture even at night i also love the fact that it tells me what is at the door not just motion so I know if it’s just my neighbors leaving or if it’s a actual person! If you are thinking about buying a security camera arlo is 100% the way to go 11/10 recommend

First off we know that none of the new smart technology in the world of security can be worth its weight without a good app backing it up. Well, of course this app is fully featured and was easy enough to setup. Since they make tons of other products if you get more than this doorbell it all shows up in the app for you to monitor, get alerts this even has ai features which is probably the best part for me. The ai features though are pretty awesome and the star of the show in my opinion. So it has the ability to detect a package, person, animal, vehicle and is amazingly accurate. You can setup a hotzone to detect from if your like me facing the road you obviously dont want to know every time someone walks their dog by your driveway or a car goes by so you can eliminate this fluff by making zones. It pretty much guides you right through doing it which is perfect. When an event occurs or the doorbell is rang you can answer it right from your phone on the app or go in and see beforehand whats going on and choose if you want to get onto the mic or talking mode to speak 2 way communication with whoever is there. The best part is it can be done from anywhere so even while im at work I can talk to a delivery person at the door which has proven invaluable for me. Of course there is plenty of cloud services on offer here with this product including many of the programs they can assist you with getting set up with a whole security suite. One of the best parts of this app integration is being able to share it with your family members so you may all check on elders in your family as a good example. Far as the doorbell itself goes it can run in battery mode or hard wired. Now I cant speak to battery mode because when I got mine I tried and the battery died in 10 mins so obviously these ship not charged. Though I was wiring it in to my chime anyway so it was a non issue and what I would recommend doing anyway so you dont have to mess around with removing a charging it all the time. The quality is good enough to zoom in on with the app and provide a clear picture and works just how you think it would which is perfect no need to figure anything out just pinch to zoom. Arlo is an excellent brand for home security and gets it right with the app and thats all you can ask for here. The only thing I wish it did any better and why I took one star off was apple HomeKit integration to mesh better with my “apple home” but honestly it’s good enough without that it’s still worth diving in to.

The video quality and build of the unit has surpassed my expectations, sleek and stylish. I love the glowing light of the button when motion is detected, provides an intuitive experience. Would recommend this product to anyone looking for a doorbell camera.

Bought this about 4 weeks ago with 3 cameras. This gave me 6 cameras on my property and my daughter was moving into a college apartment dorm. She asked if we would install it for her apartment and we agreed we didn’t need it on the house with all the camera coverage. Got the doorbell installed on move in day and it was the hit of the dorm complex. As one college boy declared “Legendary” as he rang the door. This works great for the 4 girls in the apartment especially if they are not home to tell guests. And gives dad a since of security if someone is messing around outside of the apartment hallway if I need to alert the authorities. Spot on Arlo, and for the price of the services it’s a win/win for me.

What I like most is that when someone rings the doorbell, I automatically receive a video call so I can see the person without them realizing I'm watching and listening. The other company's system didn't do that, and besides, this one is rechargeable, so I don't have to buy more batteries.

The clarity of the video is amazing, you can’t miss a persons face. You can hear the clarity of a persons voice, it sounds great. Takes a few to set up & for it not to lag, but once completed it’s instant.

I got this doorbell after reading some reviews on Consumer Reports and Wirecutter. I was able to charge and set it up before it was quickly installed by the handyman (I don’t have or know how to use a drill for my stucco walls). I did purchase a separate chime so I could hear it ring in the house. I am using it wireless. It does call my mobile phone when someone rings the doorbell. I am not sure if I like that. The picture is clear and covers a wide area. I am using the angled holder. I will have to see how often I have to charge it put the release pin in a safe place. Good value and A variety of features. I am happy with this purchase and recommend.

This is honestly pretty good and catches almost everything perfectly since you can set zones easily. Most of Arlos cameras can be linked to apple home also which makes it even better.

Went from Ring to Arlo...what a difference. Video is crystal clear, nightvision allows everything in yard and porch to be seen. Very easy set up, only took about 5 minutes, that included the install.

Clear image, detects motion well! Wish it had Apple Home integration like some of the other Arlo products. Also sometimes mistakes moving plants for vehicles.

High resolution videos and easy to install and setup. Currently when someone presses the doorbell button, you phone rings and a connected chime rings. You can have this setting or complete silence. Arlo needs to add a feature where you can select that the doorbell does not call your phone but a connected chime still sounds. Currently you can only have your phone ting and sound the chime or silence both. This is enough for me to send it back.
