Set-up Challenge

FYI:,There is no direct connect (telephone number) with an Arlo support person. Customer has to write a report about the issue before you can talk with tech support. Arlo then assisted you a case number. This process is cumbersome especially when you want to set-up to the Arlo Video doorbell without this extra step creating a delay.

Good quality hardware, easy to install

The motion sensitivity setting works well as I was able to eliminate most, if not all, of the false alerts. The live stream starts within 2-3s. Updating my WiFi router went a long way towards improving performance as I live in an area with many WiFi networks interfering with one another.

Obscenely overpriced subscription - AVOID.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Mediocre hardware, absurdly overpriced service subscription. The camera itself is acceptable but not great. It periodically loses connectivity for no apparent reason and also fails to capture motion about 5% of the time. The subscription cost is obscene though and they have increased it twice in the last year. Now $7.99 a month for a dumpy app and minimal video storage? And for that reason.. I’m out.
