The original modem I got was already assigned to another digital address so must have been used and returned by someone prior to getting to me so I had to return and order a new one and it has worked great! No issues, simple set up.

So be advised that Arris has the whole residual manufacturing economy nailed down pat. I just bought one of these to replace another of this very model which lasted about two years and 6 months before going bad. There are other cable modems but they tend to be almost as expensive as leasing a modem from your internet provider. ARRIS has the lowest price point compared to all other options and the retailer that sells it will try and upsell you on a two year warranty.... which is brilliant as it will probably barely outlive its warranty before dieing. So if youre okay swapping this out every 2.5 years and saving a few bucks then this is the way to go. I definitely recommend skipping the warranty however and if you do go with a better more reliable cable modem you'll probably save even more in the long run despite having to pay a bit more.

An excellent option for those without high speed requirements (gaming, etc). Purchased this item for my daughter’s apartment and there was no problem connecting to Xfinity in VA. She only has 5 devices and there is no lag. Purchased for about $100 instead of $15 a month rental through Xfinity. Overall great purchase!

The range is very good, and the setup was fairly easy, best part Is that I’ll be saving money by not renting the modem from the cable company, Should of done it sooner.

This was really cool when compared to my previous brand which used to get hanged when it get over heat. But this one is really fast and very simple to install too

As a Luddite, I was somewhat wary of buying this. But, as a customer of xfinity, I was tired of spending $14 a month for theirs, and I am now saving money. And, so far, after several months, and even several ice storm power outages, the Arris keeps working, and working well. I am pleased I finally did this - after several years of "thinking it over." Best Buy gave me good advice - and this product seems to be a good for for me.

This has done very well for us. The signal strength it gives us is Amazing:) Easy to set up, super simple. I highly recommend this product.
