Item seems great, but why have a block and morter store at all? I went into a local store to buy, ended up buying it online at the store, then picked up the next day at the store! Seems a bit odd to me.

The modem/router works well. Would recommend it to other consumers looking for a good modem router.

I purchased this modem to replace outdated modem that no longer was supported by ISP. It was easy to setup, and was recommended as a Compatible modem by Xfinity ISP.

You get what you pay for. Cheapest thing out there pretty much for its purpose, but has enough strength to get across a one bedroom apartment. Seems to not like if there is a dishwasher/washing machine in the way though!

Our family has a 200 Mbps plan from Xfinity in the Bay Area California. This modem/router offers a 2.4 GHz band and a 5.0 GHz band. The area of coverage for the 5.0 GHz band is very very weak. You have to be within a direct line of sight to the device in order to attain any connection. The area of coverage for the 2.4 GHz band is better, but still pretty bad. If you're within a direct line of sight to the device then speeds on the "5G" network can be great (100-250 Mbps) and speeds on the 2.4 GHz network are ok (40-60 Mbps). Once you're around a few corners/behinds a few walls/through a door/etc, the connection to the 5G network disappears completely and the 2.4 Ghz network delivers DL speeds between 0.5 Mbps and 10 Mbps. That's right, less than 10 Mbps if I'm in my room which is 30 feet away from the modem/router device (there is a straight hallway between my room and the device).

I finally got it to connect to Xfinity. It gave me less then 1 Mbps down. I took it back and bought a more advance 3.1 DOCSIS modem router that did work. Is it defective or is it no longer compatible with latest protocols?

It works. Don't know what else to say. If you purchase it, Best Buy will not stop reminding you to review it.

The wifi connection is not the best compared to other brands

I would be careful. I had this item and it lasted exactly 2 years. But if that is OK, never mind. I ended up buying the Netgear AC1900. We'll see how that one does..??
