Customers are pleased with the Surfboard 32 x 8 DOCSIS 3.0 Voice Cable Modem's ease of use, performance, and price. Many found setup to be straightforward, and the modem generally performed as expected, delivering good value for the cost. However, some users experienced compatibility issues with providers other than Xfinity. A few customers also noted that additional equipment, such as a router, might be necessary for optimal functionality.

Not for Bronx Optimum

Brought this thinking it could eliminate cable device fees. It is not compatible with optimum for the Bronx. I’m sure it was not the product but an issue with Optimum.

Won’t achieve GIG speeds for Xfinity

Works well but not at Gig speed with xfinity. Because it’s a DOCSIS 3.0 not 3.1 it will only achieve speeds up to 600.

Bought this to replace modem rented from Comcast (Xfinity). Package stated specifically that the modem was for Xfinity internet and voice, After having no luck getting it to work with the Xfinity signal, Comcast told me it was not supported by Xfinity.

This is an excellent product, but we ended up not being able to use it with Optimum/Cablevision. Same brand that they rent, but they have it configured in such a way that it is NOT compatible with their operation. Huge waste of money and hours and hours on the phone with them. Scheduled a service call and the service person said it won't work with their system.

This modem was fine, except I had issues with Comcast and this particular modem was not fully compatible with the gig service I got. Due to this I had to buy a new modem and Best Buy will no longer let me return this. The 1 star is due to Best Buy's short return policy. If I had known this, I would not have bought this early to be ready for my move.

Although online it claims the speed should be 1.2 gbps, I was only getting 5 mbps upload. Had to return it.
