This is very fast and inexpensive modem to work with Comcast.

So I decided to upgrade to 50MB speed with Comcast blast and needed a Docsis 3.0 modem. This was onsale for $79 so it seemed like a good value. Hooked it up with no problems and had Comcast upgrade me. Was getting 57MB download speeds and 11.5 upload but my Vonage service suffered. Working with Comcast we diagnosed that is was a weak cable signal and was getting lots of packet loss. I had to run a line directly to the modem from the outside cable line, without going through any splitters. This fixed my issue and the modem has been great ever since.

I bought this modem to have comcast internet. It is quite easy to install and the quality is good (reliable and good speed). I will recommend it.

Easy directions and set up ~ connection is super fast

It does what it needs to do. Dont know much about routers and modems, but better than renting one through the internet company, they're far slower.

I had to replace my ISP supplied modem after one year of use, it kept dropping my connection. I have not lost my connections once since installing this modem!!!

This was super easy to install and get going. It comes with software to help manage all your Internet connections as well as notify you when an upgrade is available.

Worked perfectly without issues. Not surprising since it was replacing my existing one that was basically the the same model but about 5 years old. Turns out the issue I was having wasn't a modem failure though and I was able to get the older one back up. I guess since I've bought this thing twice now you could say I'm pretty happy with it. Some of the best cable modems on the market.

I use this modem alongside my ASUS RT-N66R router. The two work very well together. I have the Comcast Blast! package (50 Mbps down / 10 Mbps up) and consistently speed test at 72 down / 12 up. Given my results, I opted to use this same setup when setting up my mom's home network. She too has had great results. This is an excellent router that is fast and won't be rendered terribly obsolete over the next couple years.

Bought this cable modem to use with Xfinity internet service. Woked well for about 10 days. After 10 days it would no longer bring up internet service. Called Arris support and went through their troubeshootig process. They deemed the unit needed replacing. Took it back to BestBuy and even though I had exceeded the 15 day return policy BestBuy allowed me to exchange it for the same. The new unit woked initially, but it then too started to exhibit intermittent internet drops. This time the modem status lights appeared to indicate the connection was present. Had a Xfinity tech come out. He did some upgrades to the connectors but told me that Xfinity had marked this cable modem end of life with their service. Tech said I needed a DOCSIS 3.1 modem or I'd experience occasional interent failures. The modem works fine when its working. I think my issues are with Xfinity pushing a signal to this modem which the modem does not support and causing the modem grief. DOCIS 3.1 modems are too pricey for my budget at this point so I'm sticking with this for now.

Modem was really easy to set up and is pretty universally accepted by most internet providers. Safe and reliable choice to buy.

I used to have the SB6580 but it would always drop the wifi signal or have connectivity issues through Ethernet, and even overheat. It was a piece of junk. So I "upgraded" to this one and have been good ever since, and have it paired with a Netgear R6220 wifi router. My ISP speed is rated at 100mbps down and 10mbps up but each speed test I do yields 115mbps+ down and 18mbps up.

We switched to a new internet provider and so needed to purchase a new modem. This one was recommended based on our usage and needs and it has not failed us.
