I was tired of paying rental fees through Comcast. It was easy to setup through the Comcast setup guide. I did not have to call the support group

We plugged it in and called Time/Warner to advise them of the change. No longer paying the cable company $8 a month rental on a 9yr old modem.

In short, this modem sets up and links to the cable company with no intervention on the user's part other than plugging it in. Be advised though, that the front panel lights are a garish blue, very bright, and very annoying. You may want to employ the black tape solution as I did.

Good quality modem. Got it for a good price too $70.

We bought this and a router when our internet kept going in and out. It was so aggravating to be paying for internet and it never working. Once we bought this modem and the router we have not had any problems. Best decision in a while! I would definitely recommend.

My modem I previously had kept having to be rebooted every 4 hours or so. I decided to go buy my own instead of going through the cable company. I was paying for 50mb download and only getting around 20 or 25. After getting this modem I am consistantly getting 50mb.

Had a combo router and modem. Got this and a different router. Totally worth the investment.

Getting cable Internet will usually "come" with a cable modem. Unfortunately you rent the modem from your ISP, you do not own the modem. Therefore, after a few short months, they are making a killing on you in rent. Even though there are "faster", and newer modems out there, their prices are also much higher. And sometimes, many times, your system can't handle their speed. I got cable Internet and I borrowed a friends "new, hyper fast" modem and ran a speed test on it. I then was told that this modem worked as well, if not better, at a fraction of the cost. I figured I would buy this modem after reading reviews online, run a speed test, and see if I could tell any difference. NONE!!!! This modem gives my system all of the speed I need and works great! I highly recommend the Arris and would purchase it again!

Comcast required DOC SIS 3. Older DOC SIS 2 kept dropping connection. Rather than renting one, purchase of new modem is more economical over time.

Outstanding modem. Made my network zoom. Connected to MediaCom with 50 Mbps and it zooms. Router has WAN capabilities and now I can watch movies while traveling with a couple of other PCs connected and streaming too.

Good speed for the modem. Easy to set up. No issues as of yet.

I bought one of these a year ago and it works great. My ISP convinced me it somehow got fried, so I did a bunch of research recently and realized its still one of the best. My ISP cleared up the issue, so I'm still using the original :) Highly recommend.

seems to work with TWC and provide adequate speed but is limited by the quality and dependability of TWC

Great router for a two bedroom apartment. Did not need any of the more expensive models

Had this modem for a couple days and it works like a charm. DL & UL speed are exceptional.

I am mot very techy, and could not figure out the installation. Once my friend installed worked fine.

I was a little reluctant at the begining because I though that my Time Warner speed (69mhz) it was to fast for this modem to handle it. But to my surprise it happen to be 110% better and faster than the one provided by the cable tv. Bye bye monthly rental fee
