    Out of date, total waste

This router isn't supported by Comcast, or at least any longer.. when I called to activate the router I ended up on the phone for an hour trying to figure out why it wouldn't link to their system. Finally I was transferred to an actual tech and immediately they knew what was wrong... This thing is years old, (or the technology it offers is years old) and doesn't support any firmware updates now. The rep on the phone actually asked me "where did you find that thing, get rid of it" ... total waste, nothing but junk. Maybe some small internet providers support it but good luck.

We purchased this modem when our original Time Warner modem died and we decided that we didn't want to rent one anymore. This modem is extremely easy to set up through Time Warner and seems to be a little faster than the one that came from the cable company. $99 is a little high as the modem sells for around $79 in the store. Use the money that you save to GET A GEEK SQUAD WARRANTY for replacement within two years. It is absolutely essential that you get this warranty because it ensures that you get a new modem immediately if it should break, and it probably will because none of them seem to last more than a few years. I own a lot of electronic devices and this is the only one that I have ever purchased an extended warranty for.

No issues this far. Connected easy with my Time Warner Cable account. Hopefully continues to work, as I have had problems in the past with modems. Seems to be worth the cost!

Was pushed into this model by salesperson. The brand comes highly rated but this model did no more than my previous one and within months I was told it was outdated and wouldn’t work much longer.

Easiest installation ever, works like a charm

My old modem (SB 6120) had been rebooting 6-8 times a day over the past month, and I was getting frustrated with the disruptions. I recall that after buying that modem several years ago, initially it took about half a day with several different Comcast technicians to get it to work correctly (getting the download and upload speeds that it should). Since then, the old modem had worked flawlessly up until about a month ago. By contrast, the new SB 6141, was a breeze to install. I was dreading spending hours on the phone with Comcast again to do the setup. However, this time setup was all automated through the Web. I hooked up the modem and tried to access the Web with a browser. Immediately, Comcast software detected the new modem, and did the installation automatically--no phone call needed! After signing in to Comcast, I sat back and clicked a few buttons as the install proceeded. Within minutes, Comcast automatically upgraded the modem software. In less than 15 minutes, start to finish, the new modem was registered with Comcast, and I was good to go. In my view, this is the way an electronic gadget should work. Plug it in, set it, forget it. And just use it. No more reboots, no more disruptions of watching streamed content or interrupting work!

After I read all the reviews, I purchased this item. Big disappointment! It did not work. I called my computer tech guy & he said the same thing. I had to return the next day.

I went into the store with a different product in mind. I was told this one would be better and so I went with the recommendation, of this and the Netgear. After trying to get it all to work together I was told that this configuration does not work with voice/telephone. So I called the store to complain and since it was over the 15 days (it was about 20) they basically said to bad - you should have verified it sooner. I will be returning one cable and unless I have to shop at your store I will be going through Amazon or MicroCenter. I am very sad since I have been a very loyal customer.

I purchased this early January. For a few weeks, a red light has been blinking, and my internet has been slow. I called the company and after troubleshooting it, they determined it was defective. They offered a replacement, but I would be charged $9.00. They finally agreed to waive the $9.00 but still insisted that I pay return shipping. I should not be responsible for an item that they admitted was defective. I am not paying 20% of the retail price to return their defective item. I'll throw it in the trash and never buy from them again.

    Worth the money

First of all, if you have TWC you need to buy your own modem. It's a waste of money to rent one from them for $7+ a month. This will pay for itself in no time. Anyway, I recently upgraded my internet speed with TWC. Went from 15 down/1 up to 30 down/5 up. I had an older Motorola DOCIS 2.0 modem which technically should have been able to reach the new speeds so I stuck with that trying to save a little money, however I quickly found out it was maxing out at 22/2.5. So off to Best Buy I went. I actually found this modem cheaper online elsewhere, but the associates at Best Buy matched the price without any hassle. Now my internet speeds are holding around 37/6.5. Very impressed with this modem. Super simple and easy to install, just don't forget to call TWC right after you hook it up so they can activate it.

The Best Buy sales person recommended this modem after I explained that my provider was Frontier/Verizon to go with a LinkSys router I was buying to reduce buffering on my computers/phones/tvs. When I got it home and set it up and spent an inordinate amount of time on the phone with ARRIS support, they told me it couldn't work with Frontier/Verizon. I returned it the same day to Best Buy and the new sales person showed me how to make just the router work with my system. Best Buy took the modem back and credited me with absolutely no problem.

I've used Motorola Surfboards before. Wanted to upgrade and tried this one out. Installation was pretty simple but had very unreliable connection. It could have been a router problem. Went back to the old surfboard.

I had to take this router back, it doesn't even reach the next room. I worked reliably only in the living room, but going anywhere outside of that immediate vicinity, the signal would drop.

This is the only modem that is authorized by Midcontinent. The Warranty for this product is really poor. First one we had didn't make it 6 months and the company does not stand behind it.
