Too basic
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No fault of the product it was slow and didn't have enough ports to hook up my alarm and other router. I ended up not using it and instead uses the FIOS equipment .

Served well until it didn't
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Two and half years and simply quit. This is hardware that should become obsolete, not just quit. Rent your modem from your provider if you can.

Wouldn't give my router an IP address
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worked 2 hours with Brighthouse network to get my modem working the first time after they elevated the issue and it worked fine for 3 days until I restarted the modem. Lost connection and had the same issue that took them 2hours to get going. Called them again and my router wouldn't get a IP address from the modem. Decided to simply return it and bought the Netgear which took 15 mins with them on the phone to setup and has been solid since. I was expecting more from a Motorola prodcut.

Modem almost end of support life
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This modem is an older model and I have been told by the cable company that support will be ending in a few months. I returned it to get a newer Arris model.

Came with a bad cable
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works well after numerous calls to tech support. They were helpful, but the whole time it was a bad Ethernet cable. Not sure my speed is that much faster thank old modem

No WiFi
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Please research and look carefully at specs on other sites. This item DOES NOT support WiFi. I see that there is nothing on the Best Buy site that tells you that so you really have to know what you are looking for here. Useless to me for what I needed. I purchased some time ago intending to get my own modem for home use. Just recently installed it and realized that I cannot get on WiFi and now I may not be able to return or exchange.

big letdown
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was upgrading my modem that was 10+ years old, so I thought I'd see a big difference. But nope. At least it wasn't expensive.

Supposed to be the best
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Expected it to do a lot better for the price. Sales man said it was the best they had and when we got it all hooked up we didn't notice a difference at all.

Gone again!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It worked alright while it did. This is the second time I have seen this modem failing within 2.5 years. I had one other of this very same model before this which failed in 2016 year end. Never buying this. Comparing this to my 6 year old Netgear equipment which still runs fine under same environment.

Great Modem So Far
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just bought the modem 2 weeks ago, but so far so good. I'm now able to save $8./month on TWC modem lease. Setup was simple and I was up and running in no time. I do have TWC phone service, so I had to work with a TWC rep. to activate this modem and still use my leased modem for the phone. TWC said they will not charge me for the modem that is still being used for phone. My download speed went from 70+ Mbps to over 94 Mbps with this modem. I researched a lot before purchasing this modem. All reviews for this modem were excellent. I also found a better price on amazon.com and Best Buy matched it.

Not for DSL
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had help in the store and told the sales rep we had internet through the phone company and this is the modem he gave me. It turns out it is for cable internet only. Due to illnesses, work and weather we have not had time to return this product to Best Buy. This was a bit disappointing, inconvenient, and time consuming due to having to find time to travel to get to the store.

Mine seemed to be defective
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I could not activate mine. I spent a night and a day over a period of 5 days with Comcast and Arris tech support before returning this to Best Buy. I assume it was just a defective unit, but Best Buy was Out of Stock at my local store, so I picked up a Zoom modem and it worked great. So I really don't know how well a functioning unit would work and can't recommend either positively or negatively regarding this modem.

Do NOT waste your time and money with this modem!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went through two of these modems and both of them had the same problems. They would not maintain a connection, dropping the signal after some time being on. I would have to reboot the modem to get it working again, only to have it happen again and again and again. I took the modem back to the store and bought a Netgear modem. I have had zero problems since.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This one hits a sacrifice fly. Save you money and go for the better version. Even the wifi enabled one works better.

not a good purchase
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased Arris surfboard DOS 3.0 to handle the devices in our home. It would not stay connected to our direct tv dvr and would continually lose wifi connections to several other devices. Had to purchase a different brand in order to get things working properly. If you only have a couple of devices it may work fine but more than that you may be wasting your money.

Problems with Comcast
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had issues connecting with Comcast...not sure if it was the modem or Comcast. The tech at Arris told me that it was probably a defective unit and to return it which I did. No issues returning the item to Best Buy and replaced it with a Motorola which is working great. As far as I know Arris makes great modems I just either had a defective unit or issues with Comcast.
