Returned the modem unopened, Verizon's/Fio's requires that you (the consumer) use their modem & you u actually do need their modem because the intrenet (Wi-Fi) is accessed through their cable box & it talks to the modem through the box & thus modem doesn't have that capability.

Beware. This does not work with cox unless you're on a very slow plan. The worker at best buy recommended this one but turns out it doesn't work. Not sure what to do without internet for a night. I might actually have to talk to people! =O

I read the reviews of this product, and most of them were favorable. But like the others that gave negative reviews, this device just didn't work for me. I was having to reboot the modem many times. It eventually just became plain unusable. I replaced it.

Came in and told the clerk what we needed. He suggested this one. Got it home and found out it would not work. Had to take it back and get another one that would work. I am not sure how good it is, since it just would not work with the equipment we had.

Since the beginning, it was showing connection problems and slow response. Even sometimes, it was really hard to reset it. Then suddenly it is gone. Become a brick. I purchased another brand.

    Fast and Reliable

This product worked right out of the box without any problems. Check with your internet service provider before and after the purchase of this great modem. First, before you buy, find out if it is compatible with your service or you will experience problems that are avoidable. Second, Make sure after you buy that you read the red label sticker before operating and agree to your terms and conditions. Finally, after setup is complete and you experience problems, check with your internet service provider (ISP) on how to properly setup and activate your new modem and remember that if you experience any problems with your service, the probability is higher that it is your service not your Brand New Equipment. Most Brand New Equipment should come with a one year warranty. Stop renting, pick one up and start saving.

Works EXACTLY as advertised!!! Faster speeds!

Was easy to pull off the old modem and hook up this new one. The only downfall could be how DIFFICULT a cable provider could be about getting a new modem added to an account. Other than that, I was able to gain and additional 10mbps second download and 5mbps upload, all through a WIRELESS AC router at the same time. The ease of installation is dependent on how FAST a customer service agent decides to ACTIVATE your modem. I suffered through a hour and a half to get mine done.

I had an older-generation Motorola modem that I was replacing (the SB-5120). I was able to use the same plug and cables with this unit, making it easy to swap out. The connection speeds on Comcast are noticably faster - while my current service level won't get me to the fully-rated speeds of this modem, it's definitely better than my older modem was.

I have Time Warner and this fixed my disconnects

I am the Network Operations and Data Center Manager for the City of Cleveland so.. My recommendation on this modem comes with a bit of weight. For some unknown reason about 2 months ago Time Warner cable was giving me disconnects on my leased (4 dollar a month) modem from Time Warner. I have had cable internet from them almost constantly since 1995. I have had probably 4 outages in that period of time. RECENTLY however I was getting disconnects every 30 minutes. I of course have network monitoring equipment and took a look at it. The numbers on my line were all good. I WAS getting good signal. For some reason the modem kept disconnecting. I checked out the cables. the splitter etc. All was fine. Anyhow. my leased modem was docsis 2. and the manufacture date was 2005. Anyhow.. on my old modem I noticed one downstream channel was made.. when it got interrupted the connection dropped. On my NEW Motorola SB6141 I see in the status page 4 downstream channels are created. When one fails the other three maintain the connection. So if you are "frugal" (cheap) like me you will resist buying a modem and just pay your 4 dollar charge. This modem I have had in for a week now. I have my connection monitoring software watching and in the past week it hasnt gone down once. so.. is 99 dollars worth it for flawless connection? I think it is.. so I bought one and am very happy. Also.. another tip. buy this modem.. dont buy the router modem combos.. if your router goes bad in a combo.. you got a dead modem. Keep the modem separate. Motorola makes good products too I have loved their surfboard products for many years. My old one died after 10 years.. I went with the leased nonsense they gave me.. but now I am back to Motorola. oh and it did NOT make my connection any faster.. Some might be buying this thinking it will make your connection faster. I have noticed ZERO difference it just doesnt disconnect.. which is what I needed.

This modem doesn't reach the speed of 343 Mbps as advertised. After calling a tech out from my cable company since the wifi speed and connection was poor, he was able to see that the downstream only reached up to 112 Mbps.

I had the model previous to this one, also a DOC3 modem, i would average about 85-95 down load speeds with my 100 meg service. When i switched i jumped up to 115-125megs. been very reliable, and has great speeds. i would highly recommend.

Bought this to upgrade my older DOCSIS 2.0 Motorola SB5100 modem. Installed and activated in a few minutes. Works right out of the box. Did a speed test and the download and upload speed is a little bit faster with this modem. I think it's probably due to the channel bonding. Didn't really need the speed test though since i can definitely see that web pages load faster. The lights are just a little bit bright but it didn't bother me. It's easier to see the modem status even in the dark Highly recommended for all the people who want a new modem

    Cablevision, easy install.

Here is what I did. 1. Unplug the cable wire, computer cable and power cord from existing Cablevision supplied modem. 2. Plugged these same 3 cables into this Arris sb6141 modem. 3. Let the modem lights blink for a few minutes till it looked to me like they stopped jumping around. 4. Went to my computer, opened Chrome browser and tried to access google.com Somehow it immediately repointed my browser to Optonline website. 5. I filled in the form on website (Optonline account #, last name and my phone number) and hit next 6. It did some thinking then asked me for the new modem MAC number. I found that on supplied documentation. A bit hard to read as its small but it was there. 7. I then finished the wizard and after a few minutes, I opened another browser and voila it was worked just fine. Round trip was around 12 minutes. So far, well worth it. After 10 months, it pays for itself.
