the salessperson sold me this after we discussed in detail what I needed only to have to return it immediately after coming home and reading the install manual this is not a wireless router

I was told by the Best Buy person, it would work with only an adapter from my cable provider. This did not happen and I had to return the modem. Could never get it to work correctly.

Because after three visits from Comcast and even more attempts at phone support I returned it for another modem. We just couldn't get this one to give me an internet connection.

I realized after several months that Time Warner was charging me $5 a month to rent their modem. Why rent a modem when I can buy my own, right? So I purchased this; it was easy to install. I like the sleek, vertical look. And I can always count on Motorola putting out an overall great product. I don't particularly like the color, though. It hasn't happened yet but I worry if it gets dirty or scratches, it'll be easier to see.

Not one of the cheapest options, but this cable modem is one of the newest versions from Motorola (that is compatible with all the main ISPs) and is excellent all around. Used it to replace the Arris rental from Comcast to stop the $7/month rental fee. It boasts very fast speeds that will serve me well in the future should I choose upgrade my internet speed. Setup--including time on the phone with Comcast--was less than 15 minutes. It helped that I was already up and running with a previous cable modem. So all I had to do was swap out modems and call to have it activated. The form factor is smaller than my previous, and it's a standing unit so it takes less desk space. A very minor negative is that the LED lights on the front are super bright.

Will not update and is so slow. Have called comcast a few times and they keep telling me to buy a new modem. Just bought this one. Chose another modem and pass on this one.

After 3 years of utilizing, signal keeps dropping and I have to keep of rebooting this modem. Looking to purchase a relacement.

I got this based on all the good reviews and like everyone else said it is an excellent modem. It was simple and easy to set up. I have Comcast cable and hooked up everything to the modem and I was able to activate my cable internet in minutes. The modem is reliable and sleek looking. I like how not ugly it is unlike most modem boxes. Love it.

This product and technology is near EOL. Don't waste your time and money on this product. Tried three, all had similar issues with booting and connecting to ISP.

Despite what the Bestbuy sales person told me it does not work with Google Wifi. Might be good on its own but it is not compatible with Google wifi.

This isn't the first Motorola modem that I have purchased, so I felt comfortable knowing that this product would perform fairly well. I previously had the SB6121 model, but recently stepped up to the 150MB per second Comcast package and felt like I needed a better modem for the speed. When I went into my local Best Buy store, I had no problem getting them to price match another local competitor that was running a sale on this exact modem. The Best Buy employee was friendly about it, so that made this deal even better for me. Performance wise, this modem is great. I have had no connectivity issues and the install is pretty straight forward. The speed is consistent, and the looks of the modem is also a plus. If you are looking for a quality modem at a great price, look no further. This is the one you want. I would recommend it to anyone.

The Best Buy associate said this was the correct modem for what I needed but I could not hook up my phone line to it. It does not work with voip phone.

Terrible unit, very week, disconnects all the time. When we had an issue and call tech support, they charged $49.99 for support. We do not recommend this item at all.

Could not get speeds faster than 5 mbps with this modem. returned it for a netgear and did not have a single problem

I brought this to replace my Comcast modem and avoid the monthly fees. This modem meets all of my speed needs without any lag. I run multiple devices off of this modem and haven't had any issues in 6 months of use. Easy Setup as well.

Bought this modem when we were switching from our DSL provider to Comcast. Did some online research and this one consistently was rated No. 1, unless you needed the upgraded version which was only necessary for people paying for much faster broadband than we are. Setup was a breeze (except for having to go through Comcast customer support because I wasn't using their modem) and it seems to be working great going into its second month of service. Getting the speeds I should be and haven't had to reboot it once.

DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM IT DOES NOT WORK FOR XFINITY.

Do not buy this brand. I have went through 2 of them already, and they stop working after about a year, right after the warranty runs out.

We purchased this item on the recommendation of the sales rep, and when we had the computer set up, we realized we did not need it.

I wish I had dumped my TWC rental modem a long time ago -- this unit not only saves me the rental fee ($8/mo. and is going up to $10), but it provides a noticeable boost in speed. My online newspaper used to hang on a lot of pages but now even those with graphics come into focus almost instantaneously. Video and audio streaming work flawlessly. The only thing not to like: The insanely bright blue front panel indicator lights. They cause the entire unit to glow so brightly that it's almost like having a night light, unless you hide the unit in a lower shelf of your computer desk.
