We bought this modem to replace a Comcast modem that we were renting for $10 per month. Great price and easy installation. It is working perfectly!

I upgraded my Cox internet to 100 down and a new docsis 3.0 modem was required. At first I rented a modem from Cox but realized that I could not setup QOS for my VOIP to have priority over the other devices. Picked up this modem and attached it to my current N router. Setup was easy called Cox, and gave them the S/N number and mac address. I was online within minutes. Seems like yesterday we were using dial up haha. So glad I purchased this

Had TW cable internet installed this past Saturday with a leased docsis 2.0 SB5101 modem. I was new to cable internet but had been a longtime DSL subscriber. When first installed I was thrilled to see speed tests topping out at the 15Mb that my standard tier was supposed to have. But every night, from about 7:30 till after 11, my speeds started to take a hit. SPEED TEST was showing below 2, below 1, and sometimes would not even start. Pings were 1500+. This went on for 4 nights, exactly the same thing. Then I started reading about 3.0 docsis and this modem in particular. The general idea was that this modem would NOT give you speeds above what your package provides, but WOULD help you consistently get the promised speeds. So I purchased and installed last night about 8:30 via TW chat. Took about 10 minutes. Right before the swapout was getting below 1 Mb. After the swapout, my speed tests were at an amazing 14+ Mb. So the moral - if you have congestion during peak hours and are using a DOCSIS 2.0 modem - this modem should DEFINITELY make a difference.

Yes, easy to install with TWC ISP. Works great, no lags that I can see. Buy it, plug it in, wait to boot, call TWC to activate and you are done.

Quick, easy, faster. This pays for its self by removing the rental fee charged by TimeWarner. Install and activation was very easy and quick.

Great modem connectivity for Comcast service

I recently invested in some Mac products, which completely converted my household over to Mac. In the process, I had some troubles with connectivity and range with the existing Motorola modem/router combo unit (Comcast provided). It was believed to be a "Mac compatibility issue" by my provider technical support, as well as my Best Buy advisors. Best Buy recommended that I use this specific modem for better connectivity, along with a separate router to get better range (and in my case the Airport Extreme because I have all Macs now). They knew exactly what they were talking about!! This Motorola SB6141 works extremely well, and way better than I would ever have expected. This little modem, and the Airport Extreme are a great combination if you're looking to fix your connectivity issue with Macs. It's as simple as plugging in, and calling your provider to activate...I was up and running within 15-20 minutes. Your service provider can check remotely for firmware updates with the SB6141 unit and install them for you. I had an update when we set ours up yesterday. Then when connecting your router for the WiFi, start from scratch/reset the router because the settings will most likely be different and won't allow the connection. It's most likely NOT going to be the SB6141 modem causing your issue, as much as the router settings. The ONLY complaint I have with this unit, is that there is only one ethernet port on the back of the unit. If you are a gamer, or have other devices that need to be plugged in directly to the modem/router, then you will need a router that has the extra ports available.
