I have Comcast's 25 Mbps internet, and would get download speeds around that range when doing a speed test on my old CM100 modem. I installed this today, and now am getting 40 Mbps. I had to call into Comcast to have them add it to my account, which took about 5 minutes. The only small negative is the brightness of the blue indicator lights on the modem itself. They glow blue quite a bit.

It has been now 3 months being using this modem and it has worked really well. While there are more high end models available this modem is really what I want and needed. Since my cable provider's speed itself will be the bottleneck, I didn't bother to go for high end modem. You should consider this fact about your provider and make decision accordingly.

I have used several different modems on my high-speed internet connection and this beats them all. Don’t waste your time with any other modem! The difference is quite apparent with Net Flix, YouTube and other video services. It handles several streams at once; you can use your computer while watching Net Flix with no slow down. Previously, Net Flix would give me a “loading” message and the movie would stop. No more! The modem comes in white. That was the only color BB had several weeks ago. I found it funny as the technically challenged would now be able to tell the modem from the router. Tech support: “The modem is the WHITE box.” My only gripe is that it stands vertically. I put mine horizontally with the wall mount cutouts on the bottom not to block the ventilation holes.

I have absolutely no problem with this modem at all. Once we had it setup it was registering the MAC with Comcast and then we do not look back. I will say that the only reason I had to go out to Best Buy to get this is because Amazon sold me a bad refurbished version a little older than this. Make sure to test all products. This is the 3rd Motorola Surfboard. All very reliable.

I finally gave in after months of notices from Comcast and replaced my SB5101 modem, which wasn't DOCSIS 3.0 compliant. The SB6141 installed without any issues and has been working well for three weeks. A few notes: - My internet service may be slightly more reliable with the new modem. Though Comcast issues are always intermittent and don't always seem to be modem related. - My internet service speed didn't improve with new modem despite what Comcast implies in their emails. Not surprising since the older SB5101 fully supported the service tier that I pay for. - The front panel lights are very bright as noted in some other reviews. Not a problem for me as the modem is in a home office, but I wouldn't recommend for a bedroom. - The SB6141 doesn't have a USB connection, which the SB5101 did. I assume nearly everyone uses Ethernet at this point, but it is worth noting for those who don't. This is a solid modem and a good buy that pays for itself in less than a year versus renting a modem from Comcast.

This is a good cable modem. The one I received from the cable company (Charter) was not reliable and finally died, so I decided to just purchase one of our own. The set up was fairly straight forward, but did require me to call the ISP to configure. All and all not a bad experience. The modem seems to be working fine and we are happy with the purchase.

I bought this today based on the reviews online. Yes, its a small great modem. It really improved my connection. It replaced twc ugly modem with intermittent and unstable connection. But twc modem stays with my phone. Anyway, the only annoying with this modem is the lights... Yes lights.. Bright blinking leds. Hope, it will serve my needs at least 1 to 2 years.

This was easy to install and does the job. We used to have the exact same one, but apparently it became outdated when our Comcast stopped working one day. Once we bought this, it has worked without a problem!

I bought this model over the SB6121 because of the connectivity specs. This modem is an "8x4" modem, meaning you get 8 downstream and 4 upstream connections; the less-expensive SB6121 is a "4x4" model. Why is the number of downstream connections important? The greater number of connections it can handle, the faster your download speeds will potentially be. Comcast, for instance, doesn't offer it's best speeds with a 4x4 modem; at this time, 8x4 modems offer the faster connectivity speeds. The only problem I have with this modem is how incredibly bright the front panel lights are; it makes a great night light. Otherwise, there's not a single thing that I consider a problem (I have an AirPort Time Capsule router, so the white plastic is a positive for me).

Easy to setup and Working good for high speed internet.

This is my second Surfboard in two years. The first one began having issues and had to reboot it frequently. Rather than fool with it, I decided to buy a new one. I like the simplicity, easy setup, and reliability for the cost of it. This one has a two year warranty which is one year longer than the first one owned.

I wanted a good quality modem since my cable provider starting charging monthly for a modem. this one sets up right out of the box. Pretty much just plug it in and you are ready to go (other than calling your provider to activate it). I know some other designs require you to install drivers onto your computer before you can use them, which is a little bit more hassle than I want...and this one allows me to use faster speeds in the future if I want to. Highly recommend this product.

I bought this modem after I finally got tired of my Time-Warner issued model dropping out for no reason all of the time (and T-W refusing to replace it without charging me). This one flies out of the gate, definitely worth it AND it ends up paying for itself for anyone getting charged for a cable company box.

Out of all the modems I have had over the years this one has been the best bought originally on 1/19/2014 with the new at the time night hawk netgear router. I rarely ever have to reboot it, only time it ever seems to go down is when comcast does their service that they do not announce ahead of time.

My internet service was charging me to rent an outdated modem. This one had great reviews on Best Buy and Amazon. I ordered it online and it was quickly ready for in-store pick up. It was easy enough for my parents to set up on their own. The internet is much quicker with fewer interruptions.

The Motorola - SURFboard DOCSIS 3.0 High-Speed Cable Modem is a great product for the cost and provides lighting speed. Very easy to install and so compact. I highly recommend this product to anyone.

I love stuff like this that works right out of the box. Two connections and it is working great. Fast consistent speeds. The only slight issue is that the indicator lights are really bright.

After getting tired of all the problems with my Comcast-issued modem and Comcast continuing to raise the price for leasing the modem, I decided it was time to just buy my own. The Motorola SURFboard was a great investment for the price - it paid for itself in about 8 moths of not having to pay to lease Comcast's modem, and it gives me much faster speeds, as well as a better connection.

Although this does no have built in WiFi, it is WAY better than the modem you get from Comcast. I have not had ANY issues since I switched to this modem, and my speeds are better.

I installed the SB6141 modem this afternoon and it was very easy. I had to call my cable company (Cox) to get it set up with them, but I actually got through to a woman very quickly and it only took a few minutes. So far I can see a good increase in speed, since I had a pretty old modem.
