Fantastic!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was the first modem I've ever purchased after switching to a faster internet plan, but not wanting to use the awful ones supplied by cable companies. It is an excellent modem and extremely easy to set up.

Great High Speed Cable Modem
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you want to speed up Time Warner internet and avoid those pesky monthly rental fees this is the modem for you. Easy set-up and install and you are on your way to saving money. Great modem other than those bright panel lights. Have no idea why Motorola needed such bright LED's? For the money this is a great modem and it is approved and recommended by Time Warner Cable.

Great Product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A modem is a modem as long as it has the proper throughput. So this is a great product for a great price for the everyday user. Don't spend the money on more expensive products unless you have an a higher bandwidth connection at your home and need a more powerful product. I am about to buy my second one for another house. I have owned the other one for just over 2 years and it is still going strong and have only had to reset it once since I have owned it

Great little modem at a nice price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to set up. Smaller and faster than the one XfinityComcast provided me. Now I save the monthly rental fee so it will pay itself back in just a few months.

Solved my resetting problem
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My older modem kept resetting itself several times a day, especially when using face time. After I connected the new modem, I called Comcast, and gave them the serial number and MAC address. I see a noticable difference in speed. The new modem has not reset itself. I'm very satisfied.

Reliable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great modem, definitely good value for the cost. The only time our internet has gone out, it was due to an issue with our very old router that will need to be replaced, and a Time Warner outage. Have had it for just over 4 months, and no problems so far!

Dependable Wireless Docsis 3.0 Modem!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to set up and use! At first I thought there might have been a problem with it, but told cox communications that I was still having the same problem I had with the older modem. Once cox took care of the problem on their end, everything was great!

WOW! comes to mind...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow! Does come to mind when you realize the difference between owning and renting a cable modem. Not just for the obvious reason - STOP paying 3.50 per month for something i can't own; you do the math, but the not so obvious - reliable performance and speed. Makes you realize you were paying out the wazoo for the cheapest form of hardware which actually limits performance. I am not saying that if you pay for 20 mb your speed will go up drastically. With the provider's (OEM) modem I was getting around 20-'3 mb which is what i am getting with this modem, but it's not about the top speed, it's about how fast you can get there and how long you can maintain it. Speed tests showed the OEM modem takes 2-3 seconds to hit top speed and a lot of fluctuations in between 16-23mb. Think of an unreliable stock that has gone up and down for the past 10 years to give you a visual aid of the inconsistency delivered by the OEM modem. This modem fluctuates between 21-23mb, i am sure during the evening when everyone returns home (I live in an apartment complex) the top speed may drop but the consistency will be there. Only takes a second to reach top speed and stays there. Web pages open quickly and YouTube has never worked better. I use a DIR-655 router with it and it runs like a champ. Matter a fact my router is running better, getting more range and idle speeds of around 21 mb over wireless. In conclusion, I am happing with not paying 3.50 plus extra for higher speed - I am running about 12 devices on 20 mb. Yes, 20mb is plenty when it's consistent without interruptions. Your experience may differ but there's only one way to find out. I must say it's on the expensive side but BB price matches Amazon, 81.99 for this modem isn't bad but still had to pay taxes - Amazon didn't.

Great Modem
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This modem is super fast. I had a older Motorola DOCSIS 2.0 modem before. It was an easy setup with Comcast and their Self Activation screen that comes up when you plug the computer into the modem, it recognized the modem's information and all. Did have to unplug the modem from the power and plug it back in to have everything work, but that is to me expected when installing a new modem. The lights are bright, but not terrible. The price is a little high, compared to like Amazon, but worth it for the speed increase.

Just a incredible Modem
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Replaced my old Surfboard modern with this new modem to accommodate my internet speed upgrade to 100 mgbs. The old modem was good but did no justice to my increase speeds. Now reaching download speeds of a 116 Mgbs. My iMac is smoking now!

Great cable modem to avoid leasing it.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great modem! Both Motorola and Arris have been making quality products for a while. My previous experience with Surfboard modems had been excellent. They are quality products that last a long time. Usually advances in technology are the only reason to replace them. Setup is very easy as is activating the modem with you cable/internet provider. The only thing I don't care for is the blue lights. They are so strong the whole modem has a Blue Glow that lights up the immediate area. If you have the modem in a sleep area you may wasn't to consider relocating it or purchasing another.

Great product, but wish they made it black.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have TWC and decided with all the recent and frequent price hikes with my bill, I decided to cut costs by owning my own modem. Product does as specified. It truly is faster than the rental. I've owned it for several months now and don't seem to have a problem. I did call in to set up with TWC. My only gripe about this product is that a black version should have been made. All of my other electronics are black but this is white and it stands out.

Recommended Modem
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Read the reviews here, but the review from the wirecutter.com sold me on this modem. I didn't want to rent a modem anymore and found this to be reliable with no performance issues.

This thing screams.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Time Warner Cable had a promotion where you can upgrade to 50meg internet. I had a Surfboard DOCSIS 2.0 that couldn't handle the extra bandwidth. Can't say enough good about it.

Lights are way too bright!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works well so far, but can't give 5 Stars because the LED lights on this are so bright, it's ridiculous. I'm debating returning it because it's like a disco at night. No way to dim them. If you put this in a room where no one sleeps, it might be OK.

Great modem
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Modems are usually easy to set up and this was no exception. I was able to double my download speed by using this Motorola Surfboard DOCSIS 3.0 modem with my new NetGear router. The total setup - router and modem - took less than 15 minutes; including the time it took to unpack the components and read the instructions.

Makes my internet super fast
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought mine about a month ago and there haven't been any issues. Initially I didn't really think higher priced modems made a difference in internet speed. Let's just say I'm glad I am using this one now. The difference in downloading and streaming is night and day compared to the old one I was using. It's also really easy to set up.
