Dropped connections
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.After reading all the good reviews,, I bought this modem from BestBuy to replace my ZOOM (DOCSYS2) modem. After installing this new modem, i have been having several dropped connections throughout the day and it has not been working for most of the time, with only occasionally working. I had several calls with Comcast, they had me try all kinds of things like restart, splitter replacement, direct connect without the splitter, bypass the wireless router etc. After everything they said that they will send a tech for a charge. I knew for sure that there is nothing wrong with my connections, so After I connected back my old DOCSYS2 modem, and now my internet is working again. I got busy and could not return this to Best Buy 14 days, and now I am stuck with this $99, since i can not return this now. I should have bought from a place which gives more time to return the product.

This is the latest version of DOCSIS. It also means that it uses channel bonding technology to gain access to the unused bandwidth capacity available on your network, in effect, boosting your bandwidth speeds.

Works with Time Warner
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had Time Warner activate this modem in place of the one they supplied as the Time Warner modem kept needing to be reset almost daily. That problem has gone away. The modem speeds exceed what speeds my Time Warner service is supposed to provide. It did take Time Warner tech support 2 tries to activate it correctly.
