    Failed going on month 4

This modem worked fine for the first (approx.) 3 months. Then it behaved erratically for a few weeks and required numerous resets. It finally failed about 4 months after purchase. It would power on, but no upstream or downstream connection even though the link light was always on. I went back to Netgear.

    Not worth the upgrade

I was hoping for a significant speed upgrade from my 4 x 4 modem. I got a minor speed upgrade of around 5% but not 8 times faster than advertised. Registering the modem was a hassle because i have an X1 cable box. Admittedly this was an Xfinity issue but just know that there could be issues getting the modem activated. Bottom line is i should have just kept my older modem.

Good modem for 2 years and not junk per Comcast

This modem was originally recommended by Comcast to use. Modem worked great till 3 days ago. After 2 calls to Comcast, I finally got a technical support person to tell me the real answer. Comcast has put this modem on end of life because the firmware on it is very easy to hack. So I guess I will be shopping for a new modem.

Not Reliable in the long run

I bought a SB6141 two years ago after my prior Motorola modem began having issues. Seems the last two owned have not held up. The first one of the three was great and only began to fail when technology outpaced it, otherwise it was still purring along. When first installed the SB6141 ran great but after 1 year I noticed intermittent disconnects and reboots. The situation slowly worsened over the next year until near complete failure. I initially thought it was my Netgear router being that it was older than my modem but that was not the case. Cable technician came out and checked lines, tweaked a few things and all was perfect, Not. What I began to figure out was that after sitting for awhile the modem would work but as soon as a load of internet requests was made it would cascade into full failure. At it's worst I could only get 1 or 2 web pages to load before it lost connection. Once I replaced it with a Zoom 5341J all is well in the home and so far so good. See ya Motorolla I refuse to waist any more money.

    Comcast would not activate

Comcast in Milwaukie Oregon will no longer activate the 8 channel modem saying it is now "end of life". We are only paying for the lowest tier and don't need more than 25 MB/s. We had to buy the 16 Channel model.
