Backstory: My ISP sent me an email trying to get me to purchase or rent one of their modems since they "detected my cable modem was outdated and needed to be upgraded." While my cable company/ISP is the devil, I knew I had not updated the modem when I updated my router. Basically, I knew after 4 years it was legitimately time to upgrade. Review: The modem is basically plug and play. No crazy adjustments or additional steps required. I saw an immediate increase in my internet speed performance (+1 Mbps for dl's) after installation. It's quiet, doesn't get too hot, not unsightly, and has been working flawlessly since purchase. No work required on my part. Suggestion: If you're in the situation described in my backstory above, then this is a solid modem to upgrade to and it's fairly inexpensive considering what it allows me to do. I am happy and if you share similar expectations then you will probably be satisfied as well with this product:

I had to replace an old Motorola modem and this was highly recommended to me. I reviewed this model online and chose this model over the sb6121. This model was about $30 more, but I was willing to make that investment for the increase in speed and "future proof" my setup as they say. This modem should last a long time and so far (one month) it has been working great. I can already tell my connection is more solid and faster than before. I am pairing this up with an ASUS Dual-Band Wireless-N 600 Router (RT-N56U).

I purchased this because Comcast said my old model wouldn't give me the new faster internet speeds. It was so easy to set up to use with Comcast. Pretty much set itself up. It works fine, no problems. The only criticism is the bright blue lights. They could be toned down but it is in my home office, which I'm not in at night much so it's not a problem for me.

In my opinion this is a great buy to replace your cable modem that your ISP is providing and your are paying $10 a month. You are probably going to be with internet for the next couple of years (min life of your router) and so you pay over $200 instead of $70 up front and have your own modem. To me this a no-brainer and it works seamlessly with my Time Warner service. P.S. Check with your internet provider and make sure this equipment is compatible with their service before your purchase this.

My previous modem was by the same company but had the wifi router built in. I probably had to reboot it at least 3 times a week. Very annoying. My cable repairman recommended this modem to me as a very fast and reliable unit. He was right. I coupled it to an Apple Airport Time Capsule for wifi & wireless backups and have had zero problems. Haven't had to reboot the modem once and it works great!

I was getting frustrated with my monthly Time Warner bill constantly going up and their representative told me I could end my $8/month modem lease fee if I bought my own. I did that immediately and it took less than five minutes to set up through their tech department. And I even noticed a small speed boost compared to my old connection. This thing will pay for itself in less than a year!

Had the modem for many months now. So far so good. Never had to unplug the thing either, not once. Installation was simple too. I just had to call tech support and say I'm changing my modem. Some companies make it even easier by having the first web page redirect you to their automated web site. Either way the phone call only took 5 minutes. I only wish Time Warner would up their game around San Diego. My modem supports faster speeds than my ISP can provide.

I purchased this expecting that my internet speed would be increased after upgrading to a faster internet package. I cannot definitively say whether the internet provider has failed in their promise or if the product is defunct in it's ability. I do not have faster speed one way or another. What I can say is that this modem must be an improvement from my stonehenge modem purchased from the internet provider. It takes up less room, is energy efficient and works great as a nightlight. Oh and I might mention that the tech support is superb. Maybe I need to upgrade the rest of my tech to see a difference.

I got this modem and returned the rental unit to my ISP. No regrets at all. It was as easy as connecting the cables and power, and calling the ISP to add to my account. It does not reboot or drop connections like the rental modem, and it is blazing fast with DOCSIS 3. This is only capable of 8-channel bonding, but unless you are subscribed to an internet speed over 100 Mbps, no need for the more expensive 16-channel modem when this one gives the same speed.

Got this because I got tired of paying Comcast $8 a month for modem rental, and at the sale price of $89 at the time, I bought it. I tried to use the Comcast automated setup after hooking up the modem, but it would not complete. After 45 minutes trying, I finally gave up and called Comcast. 15 minutes later modem was up and running and has been rock solid for 2 months now. If it lasts a year, it paid for itself, and after that, its modem rental money in the bank.

Using it with TWC service. The best modem I have ever used. The TWC technician who installed it for me opined that this is one of the best modems you can buy and way better than what they provide and other cheaper modems. It is not cheap, but he felt that this is very reliable and has excellent performance. Very easy to set up and use. I have not had any problems with the speed or connectivity and has definitely exceeded my expectations.

This a great router for the price. Easy to set up and secure the connection and reliable, fast connection.

As always, Motorola creates the most reliable cable modem with speed, reliability, and great price.

Replaced the Comcast modem that I was automatically signed up for since I didn't want to provide the free xfinity wifi that Comcast is giving away and saved $10 a month in the process from Comcast's modem lease fee. My speed is better, it was easy to setup. I'm content with my purchase.

I am saving $10.00 each month since I am no longer paying to rent the TWC modem. Set up of this modem was fairly simple. Followed instructions then called TWC to have them activate it. Took maybe 15 minutes total. Took the cable modem to local TWC office, turned it in, got receipt as proof, and it was done. Modem works great. I am getting a little faster download speeds than I am paying for. All around good deal.

Very compatible with Spectrum service. Very easy to set up and is super fast.

A must have if you have cable for ISP. Reliable, fast, and decent price for what it can do.

Easy setup and works great for the price. You can expect this to put out up to 150mbps - if you have a higher internet speed from your provider it would be worth getting a more expensive model that can handle faster speeds, as you'll never actually get speeds as fast as it says on the box. For service over 150mbps I'd go with the the Surfboard SB6183 instead (I have used that one too and it can easily output 300mbps).
