Returned it right away... the store associate who sold it to me (btw this is the third wrong modem they have given me!) said it is what my WiFi supplier supplies any way.. as soon as I get home to register it with the provider they almost laughed at me saying it was not only incorrect but extremely outdated and would never support the rest of my home.. which btw was also purchased through Best Buy so they for sure should not have tried to sell me 3 incorrect modems!!

Product is good but i had to return because optimum doesn't support this device.

I called comcast customer center but they said this product wont work with comcast. But still I tried to connect and it didnt work.

This modem is not for Xfinity internet w/ voice plan. It won’t work.

i bought this item because it bestbuy says it works with optimum. does not has become obsolete the tm 822 or the 802 must be the tm 1602

I recently signed up for Xfinity Triple play and after it was installed I decided to replace the rented modem/router with my own equipment. The TM822R provides a steady Internet connection as well as a telephone jack. Set up was simple and automatic - simply follow the directions. Also, as another reviewer noted you may need to connect to the TEL2 jack for phone service. Initially I had to use the TEL2 jack for phone service but I now have my phone connected to the TEL1/2 jack. No matter - everything is working properly and I am very pleased with this item. I will also review the WiFi router I added which is the Asus AC-R1900P.

Still currently working as of 12/10/2019. Read the reviews and followed some user's advice. Easy install and saves $10 per month. Steps: unplug router and old modem, plug new modem into coax and power and google "optimum self installation guide" on your phone or device with internet service, follow the steps on the install site and replace the modem on optimum system, be patient with the restart it will take some time before all lights go green. Works well, speed tests maxed out download speeds, upload put up big numbers as well.

Don't call xfinity to help set it up, they'll say they don't support it. Call arris and they will help. Be sure to hook up direct not off a splitter off another splitter. Then you can use the xfinity connect website to activate the internet and phone, easy, better than spending over $300.
