This combination router modem is as fast as the new Xfi from Comcast but has more available user controls.

I had a not too old similar Motorla router at my old house and recently moved. For whatever reason, it wouldn't work at my new house and Cox Cable said it had to do with the higher speed, but I had the same plan at the other house. So I had to buy a new router that met their specs and this was one of only 2 in the store at the time. Overall it seems pretty good, especially on the 2.4 Ghz wifi but the 5 Ghz wifi tends to be a little less stable at times, dropping in and out periodically. Otherwise it's fine.

This modem and router combo was very easy to hook up and improved the performance of all our devices. Love it

Got for someone who has a two level apartment and the coverage is awesome, no need for a router.

This unit definitely is not geared toward anyone who runs a sophisticated network. It makes some bad assumptions about how it will fit into your network, specifically that it will be the network DNS resolver. That faulty assumption leads to problems disabling the highly invasive network snooping McAfee "security" product that is bundled into the product since they have it configured to use a non-existent top level domain name that the DNS in the modem will resolve, but a validating DNS resolver will not. If you understand networking, this unit will definitely annoy you, but it can be plied into obedience with sufficient know how. Based on the deliberate poor design choices I cannot recommend this product. Get one without the bundled McAfee spyware.
