However there is little documentation so it is difficult to determine if you have done everything right. I get internet throughout my house with a separate wireless router, but the modem displays a orange light to signify internet versus the green light displayed when something is plugged in directly. I don't know if this is good or not. It works, so good enough.

Nice modem to remove cable company rental fees.

After some initial issues getting the modem set up (because of the cable company, not the modem), it works great. Plus it's a newer, updated version of the modem that I was renting. I recommend that you check your cable bill to determine if you should go the same route I did.
