I have been a loyal customer of ATT since the 90's and had to switch to comcast and I didn't want to pay for their modem. I tried a older Cisco that I found on Craigslist that barely worked. This modem gives me almost 40mbps more than my plan is slotted for. Being a network admin I do have things configured through a 3rd party router and firewall system in my home. Easy to integrate. Well worth the money.

We were having trouble maintaining a connection to Charter with our old modem (another Motorola). Bought this one as it was on their compatibility list. Haven't had a problem since. Had to call & get the new modem registered but once it was in their system it connected immediately and we haven't had to reboot it since. We get the speed we pay for and it quite happily hands off the public IP to our router.

We upgraded our modem for Cox Internet and it is much faster and was easy to install.

When it comes to cable modems, I'm no techie. Since my old modem died, & we had just purchased a new computer, I called my cable provider who told me to make sure the new modem was a docsis 3.0 high-speed cable modem. I didn't know what that meant (still don't), but the helpful associate at Best Buy agreed that this was what I needed. Set up was easy, & it has worked perfectly ever since.

This device works great with Comcast/Xfinity, it says so on the box. Just plug in all the cables and watch all the leds lit up and you are done. And it is priced below $50. This beats paying Comcast $10/month to rent the exact same cable modem or buy a $200 high end modem that may not do the job as well.

Bought this one because Comcast said my old one was bad, same model, but as we all know Comcast has no idea what they are doing and I ended up repairing a bad connection out in my neighborhood demarc. Didn't return this one because Comcast said it would take 3 business days to switch back to my old modem. What a bunch of malarkey. So now I have two good modems and one bad service provider.

Found out I was renting a modem from my cable provider (one of those things I never thought of) and went out and bought this the same day. The set up and activation took about 5 minutes with my provider. I bought one for my mom (she too was renting) the setup was done in no time but activation with Comcast took substantially longer than my provider. But regardless this is a great product
