Easy Set-up and good performance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Modem was easy to set-up and works great. A great way to save money rather than buying from Comcast.

Great modem for most common speeds
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have Xfinity. I got the Blast internet plan. This is Arris's basic modem, but it's plenty fast for most people. The next one up is the 6141 which you don't need unless your plan is for data above 170 Mbps. I've never had to reset this modem and it is extremely reliable and stable. After about 8 months, it will have paid for itself over modem lease fees.

WORKS GREAT....
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the Motorola SURFboard DOCSIS 3.0 High-Speed Cable Modem to replace a ten + year old Motorola modem. It was relatively easy to set up --- just follow instructions. It has resolved a problem that I thought was a router issue. The Associate at Best Buy related a similar problem as the one I was experiencing and recommended replacing the modem rather than the router. It did the job.

Well its a modem
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its a modem and modems don't do much. I bought this so I can stop paying the ridiculous cable rental fee for their modem. So far I have had it for a few days and haven't had any problems with it. so far it has been working 100% of the time. definitely more reliable than the garbage the cable company provided. I definitely recommend this modem.

Simply Great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally went with the Router/Modem model thinking it would save me space and money, but it had issues (these are seen in the reviews for that model). I returned it at Best Buy (very easy exchange) and purchased this model. I called up Comcast, set it up and I have been good to go ever since. What I like about this: (1) I don't have to pay Comcast a $7 monthly rental fee for their modem (which had gone up from $3 originally), (2) it has had zero issues with connectivity and speed, (3) I am future proofed for some time! I currently get 20 Mbps down from Comcast and the modem can handle up to 160 Mbps. I am confident that I will have this modem for a long time and will be very useful unless they somehow release affordable 160+ Mbps rates. What the heck would I do with that bandwidth anyway?! My ONLY REGRET is not buying this sooner...

up and running in 5 min
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Switched from DSN to Cable. Wanted separate modem and router for added security as well as replacement ease - after reviews got this Surfboard and it was everything it was advertised to be. Once cable was in the house - we plugged it in (and also hooked up the Belkin router which I'm reviewing) and worked like a charm. No issues at all. My DSL was supposed to be 6 megabits, but best speed I ever got was 765k - with cable (12 megabit advertised) got 12.54 with this modem and router - awesome. no more 5 hour downloads of new games.

Great and affordable modem
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This surfboard SB6121 modem have all the basic capabilities required to have an optimal and updated connection to your home internet access up to 150 mb. If you are having Comcast as your internet provider I recommend to buy this modem. It is working fine so far since I replaced for my old and outdated modem last summer.

Great improvement over DOCSIS 2.0
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This modem works great with the comcast high speed internet blast service. Speed has increased noticeably. The other modem would drop the signal quite often, this one has not dropped it once. I would highly recommend this modem. The one thing that might be a negative, is that it does run a little hotter than the old one.

Good Replacement for Standard TWC Modem
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The included instructions indicated it could be configured by accessing a website. I had to call TWC Tech Support and after a few tries they were able to access and configure it. It's being working ever since and the only need to reboot occurred after the TWC internet feed went down. I'm getting the same speed as with the TWC supplied modem,

Very happy with this modem
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our ancient docsys1 Motorola surfboard began dropping out regularly, and a quick discussion with a real English-speaking American cable tech rep with Charter in Minnesota verified the history of dropped connections, and also that the docsys1 protocols were no longer supported, or "blacklisted". The rep mentioned that docsys2 would work but that it will be superceded by docsys3 at some point as far as service reliability goes, so I figured why not go with the 3.0? It costs a bit more in the short term, but if this modem lives as long as our old Motorola, the performance will more than justify the additional cost. So following installation, the device needed to be activated. That call connected me with a tech rep in India, who tried to deny being able to do anything regarding setup because I wasn't primary on the account. A little logic prevailed (I wasn't changing our account or our service level...), our new modem was activated. We haven't encountered a single drop in service since installation/activation, and we're getting over 20meg download speeds. The activation process was the only reason I downgraded the "ease of installation" entry. Very happy with this modem!

The Must have Modem!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My old Motorola Surfboard modem finally stopped working after about 6 years of use. I have multiple computers and gaming consoles in the home so I needed to find something that could handle the work load of multiple interenet users all at the same time. I did some research and for the money you can't go wrong with the Surfboard DOCSIS 3.0. I have been using this modem for the past couple of months and it is living up to what I was told it would do. Don't get frustrated using old, out dated technology, pay the $99 and start enjoying the internet!

Good Replacement
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this modem to replace a leased DOCSIS 2.0 modem from my cable company that I had payed for over 5 times. I went with this modem because it promised to be faster than the leased one I had and I wouldn't have to pay for it every month. Turns out this modem's speed is practically the same as the old one on downloads and just slightly faster on uploads, which is ok as it works well. The installation worked well but my cable company would not do this installation over the phone, they insisted that I bring in the leased modem to their service center first and then they gave me the info I needed to install the new modem. The only thing is I wonder whether I would get the same speed from a less costly modem. Just the same, I am very happy with this purchase.

Easy and Works
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have now had this modem with TWC for about a year. It has worked flawlessly. All you need to do for TWC is call tell them the MAC address on the side and you save 5-7$ on your internet bill a month

Great modem.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was tired of constantly having to restart my ISP's slow modem, so I thought I'd try the SurfBoard. Works great with Comcast and I haven't had to restart it once since I bought it last year.

Easy to install and setup
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked this router because it was recommended by Comcast and the user reviews were very positive. The router connects wirelessly to my desktop PC (running Windows 7), my laptop PC (running Windows XP), and my iPhone. Very fast and easy to setup. Had the router setup and running within 1/2 hour. Absolutely no problems so far and very dependable. If connecting to Comcast be sure to call their service center so they can ping the router to insure a connection.

Faster data transfer.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After much research, this was purchased over 4 months ago to replace a 4 year old unit. DOCSIS 3 data speeds are through the roof compared to old modem. Pros: Fast. Cons: Runs a little warm.

super easy setup w/Comcast
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just installed this modem to eliminate the $10/month rental. Installation with Comcast could NOT have been easier! I did NOT have to call them with the MAC address- just took it out of the box, connected the cable, ethernet for WiFi & power cord. A setup page from Comcast then appeared on my iPad browser, it recognized the modem, I signed into my account & BOOM it's working. The whole process from box to working was less than 10 minutes.

Solid, reliable box, but this Model is limited
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ok, I bought this to save on the rental fees from Time Warner like most people do. It's a DOCSIS 3.0 model, but is limited by number of channels it can listen on. To avoid looking absolutely pathetic compared to Google Fiber, Crime Warner boosted everyone's speed for free. If you have Turbo or Extreme speeds, and have this modem you are not getting all your throughput. Currently, this modem is maxed out at 50Mb Down/5Mb Up when I should be running at 200Mb Down/20Mb Up with my package. I was informed by a service tech that I should be rocking more speed. When you access the modem's web interface it only shows 4 downlink channels and 2 uplink channels. With the recent boost in speed, Crime Warner is multicasting on up to 16 channels. There is a mid-range modem/Gateway for about $100 that has 8 channels, and to get the full 16 channels its going to cost $130+ for a new device. Now my Extreme speed is actually the standard speed due to my modem's limitations. I'm not complaining, I'm happy with these speeds and welcome a way to pay these sadist's less money. You have been informed.
