I replaced an old linksys DOCSIS 1.1 with the motorola and immediately noticed an increase in dowload and upload speeds. Throughput also increased. Great product for the price. The Motorola has to have the right signal strength and noise level to work properly. A little research before you buy will make the installation easier and with less problems.

I am replacing my previous Surfboard Extreme modem (SB6210) with this one, as my previous one started to see the end of days after just under two years of quite heavy use. This modem was incredibly easy to set up like the previous one, and activated within minutes through Comcast. The speeds are fantastic, and the ping seems a tad lower with this modem than other modems some friends have in the neighborhood. Lastly, this cable modem is a DOCSIS 3.0 modem, which allows for much faster internet speeds than DOCSIS 2.0 modems (if you pay for them). I've used this modem for more than 8 hours per day, much like the predecessor, and it's absolutely solid. The reboot option in the modem configuration is great, which can be reached at 192.168.100.1. Definitely look into getting the replacement plan if available though, as it'll help you save money in the long run in case the modem does start to fail

Modem is much smaller than my old rental - fits nicely in my structured wiring cabinet. The Comcast automatic install went without a hitch. Just plugged in the modem and then tried to access the web. A Comcast page pops up that guides you through the steps. Download speeds increased about 2x and ping times went down drastically compared to the old rental modem.

SuddenLink came out and had it up in running in less than an hour. They have to provision the MAC, but the process is smooth. I love the performance of this unit. I conducted multiple speed tests from SpeakEasy and SpeedTest.net. This device is pulling around 22 Mbps down and 2.3 Mbps up consistently, with no latency drop-off. The needle stays speedy and strong throughout the tests... I'm loving it!!

I use this for office but the family also enjoys it too so it needs to stay in a central location. I have a home office which sits far from my modem and the signal was very weak. After I installed this devise, which was easy to connect, the signal was fast and strong. I was told by the sales rep that if the signal has to pass through the kitchen sometimes it can get lost, but this devise had not trouble with any of that. I can now do my work without losing connection every minutes. Love it!

Recently bought this modem due to my Xfinity modem/router flaking out on me. I was able to set it up quickly and it has been working like a charm. I would recommend a bit better details on or trouble shooting guide for non-tech savvy people.

I had an old Docsis 2 Surfboard that I used for about 10 years with no problems. I was told by Comcast that I need to switch to a Docsis 3. I looked around and thought this would be the best choice. When I opened it I was suprised how small it was. I have eaten a piece of toast bigger than this thing! I hooked it up, called Comcast and they got my Mac address from me which is listed on the modem. Within minutes I was up and running and saw speeds of 27Mb/s. Pretty avg at my location. I play online games on various platforms and video (Skype, YouTube) etc.. have had no problems. Overall would recommend this if you are in need of a good cable modem.

This is a great modem after you get it set up. When I first called Comcast they said that this modem wasn't supported, so I told the tech that this modem was on their website with a full 3 star rating and I was put on hold while she went and looked to make sure. After that it was set up in less than 7 minutes! This increased my download speed from 23-25mbps to 34-36mbps and upload from 4mbps to 6.3mbps! I would recommend anyone to buy this modem from Best Buy since they have the lowest price on the internet. (other places have this for $140 when its only $100 here)

Awesome upgrade. I run PS3 (Gaming), Apple TV (Streaming content), IPAD (Streaming Netflix), two Iphones streaming Netflix, my wife's laptop and my Mac with no trouble. I am paying for 25MBPS service and getting 32-35 down and 6-8 Upload!

I replaced an out of date Comcast modem after being informed the "Blast" internet service download speeds were increased. After updating download speeds doubled to 57 mbps. Upload remained the same 12 mbps (but increased upload was not part of the Comcast increase). The modem has been running for a month and a half without any issues. Speed around the house is much quicker. We recently switched to internet streaming away from the out of control digital cable bills.

Instructions - hook straight up to the computer (bypass all routers), call comcast or IP. Give them the customer serial number and mac address of the modem. It took them about 15 minutes to get the modem setup. I had to reboot and it came to life. Then check internet. Works. Problem...after hooking up my router, internet did not work. Had to make sure everthing was hooked up the way my normal setup was, then reboot the modem. What happened is the modem "remembers", if you will, the computer. What rebooting does is help the modem pair with the router and then all is well in the world of me again. Also increased my speed. Would be better if I had a gigabyte router, but later on I guess. Hope this helps others.

My internet provider was charging me $8/month to lease a modem. Best Buy had an approved one for $67. Very simple to set up. Works great.

Modem works great. With a little help from the customer service number in the pamphlet, connecting was quick and easy. Like how it can be laid on it's side or stands upright.

All I can say it reduces my rental bill from my Internet Provided and this gives me more liberty and savings. High Speed, Awesome and most of all saves me a lot of dollars!

I struggled for hours trying to make this work with Airport Express. I have comcast cable and a macbook pro. I read the blogs online about how to make the combo work, but even after following the instructions to the letter I could not make it work. I went to best buy, bought a Netgear modem, plugged it in, and in 10 minutes I was up and running. It's nice. I upgraded from a 6 year old Linksys modem+router. Huge difference.

Saves me $10 per month and is faster than the modem that Comcast had issued. No problems with buffering on 1080p programming. Happy I made the switch!

I had problems with Comcast last year, my 1st ever experience. I bought the package with phone/tv/internet...i figured I'd try again with just internet and buying my own modem. My only issues with them is they couldn't keep my speed locked at 50mb down and 10mb up...which every time a tech came out, it worked for 1 night...then the next day it was 10mb down and 3mb up again...apparently a configuration error that they could not find. I called Comcast up on Monday afternoon...around 4pm CST...the rep was very pleasant and said sure...we can help you for just internet. I told him I was going to buy my modem at Best Buy...and told him this model #, he said that will definitely work. When would you like your services? I can turn it on today if you like...I was like ..wth?? no way...I said ...sure today would be great...I went home at 4:30pm and bought the modem on the way...I plugged it in about 5pm..plugged the modem in...it automatically brought me to Comcast's activation page...I put in my account number and my phone number...then asked me to activate the modem..and i was online within minutes. I did not have to buy the "comcast activation Package" sold in stores...I just bought the modem and didn't need a technician. I tested the speed and easily hit my 50mb down and 10mb up. Buy this for comcast..it works!

excellent router for xfinity cable, recently upgraded to a 20mpbs and this is must router to get the best performance and be able to stream movies and all the great things. easy to set up in min, connects like a charm. it's not wireless but it's ok i still believe this connection of wire is still faster. I highly recommend this router if you want the awesome speeds of higher quality.

I had to upgrade my modem because Comcast wouldn't support my old one. This one works great and is fully compatible with Comcast Internet.

I have owned several modems over the last 20 years and Surfboards have always maintained a strong dedicated connection. Works great!
