Great Modem!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this Modem, Was having horrible service from Charter with rented modem. Put in service order with Charter and couldn't wait till 2 days for service call to come out. Went out that night and got this modem hooked up called Tech Support to negotiate my Mac-Address and I was up and running. Getting 2-5 Meg faster speeds that I am paying for. 2 days later the Charter tech comes out let him know what I did and he said he was planning on replacing my old surfboard modem this this exact modem anyway. Since I already did it he left.... Would recommend this Modem to everyone, Plus save $7 rental fee a month off Charter Bill...

A fine DOCSIS 3 modem
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to replace an old Motorola SB5121 which gave up the ghost after 7 years of service. This turned out to be a good thing, as Comcast has upgraded their network and now supports channel bonding. They also doubled our speeds at no extra cost not long after I got the SB 6121. It's a cable modem, so there's not much to tell. The most important thing that anyone buying their own cable modem can do is make sure your provider supports that specific model. For example, while Motorola now offers the SB6141, which supports 8 downstream channel bonding as opposed to the 4 offered by the SB6121, Comcast does not yet support it. You can read about Comcast customers trying to use the SB6141, but the configuration file sent to it by Comcast continually knocks it offline. So if you need a new cable modem right away, and don't want to pay the outrageous monthly rental fees, make sure your provider supports it, then get this modem.

Better than standard-issue Comcast model
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While this surfBoard Docsis 3.0 works well, I still don't get the lightning fast service I'd like, but that's more a result of limited home-based bandwidth not so much a modem issue. The brilliant feature I really appreciate is the fact I have much faster connection speed in general and less wifi dead spots throughout my home...granted this isn't a wifi modem, but it seems to bolster the strength of my wifi signal immensely perhaps due to better throughput from modem to wireless router.

Great Modem
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm using this modem with Charter Cable and it works great. It installed with no problems at all and there was no need to call a Charter Tech to finish the install...fully automatic via their website. Average speed tests are coming in around 58 Mbps to 62 Mbps.

Just a tad pricey
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this modem to attempt to solve a problem with my internet dropping constantly, What I got was a lot better service than I had before... With DOCSIS 3.0, not only did I get slightly faster throughput, but my landline (t-mobile @ home) no longer drops any information - it used to drop sound without disconnecting for five to ten seconds at a time. Gigabit to the router is a definite plus also...

HOLD ON !!!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thought my Comcast Extreme 50 Business Service was fast before, nut with this modem I'm well over 50Mpbs down. I had a little trouble getting Comcast to accept this modem on the business service. According to them it's only on the approved list for home users. After about 2 hours on the phone with them comparing the specs, they activated it on my account and it worked fine. The main issue they don't see is that this modem DOES bond downstream channels. I'm now getting burst speeds of 105Mbps - 120Mbps, then it slows and levels out at 70Mbps - 78 Mbps. I had some trouble in the beginning with the modem rebooting for no reason. I disconnected all other devices on the cable line and connected directly into the modem. I did this for about 1-2 hrs. until all updates were downloaded from Comcast, then hooked everything else up and had no problems after that.

No brainer to install & saves money over leasing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to replace my Comcast cable modem that I was leasing. I think the lease price is $7 -$10 so I'll recoup the cost in less than a year. This is a DOCSIS 3 modem which is the latest generation and spposedly the fastest. It has a gigabit ethernet port which is great because my Airport Extreme also has a gig port so no bottlenecks there. I assume that if I subscribed to the super fast speeds comcast offers I could report on whether this is helping me get better performance and throughput but I am cheap and Comcast is throttling me to 3MB. Maybe I'll use the savings to make things faster... hmmm... The product is definitely plug and play. I had to call comcast and give them the MAC address for the new modem and TADA it was off and running. Total install and setup time about 5 -10 minutes with the Comcast guy on the phone.

Great Cable Modem
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this high speed modem when I upped my broadband connection from 25 Mbps to 100 Mbps. This modem is getting me every Mb possible out my connection. Using speedtest.net I consistently get 100+ Mbps readings. I stream movies from Netflix and Amazon, as well as sports from LIVESPORT.TV and ESPN3. Using this modem I always get the highest video quality available. I couldn't be more happy with this purchase.

Excellent and Easy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Saves me $7/month on my Comcast bill. The modem pays for itself in 14 months. There isn't much else to say about it. It quietly sits there and does what it is supposed to do. I get my full advertised performance from Comcast too. Also interfaced well with my Netgear RangeMax router to give us full wireless throughout the house

Best Cable Modem
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great cable modem. I no longer have to pay my cable provider $7 a month to lease theirs. One year of ownership and it pays for itself. Performance is great, just by switching out modems I saw a 10% speed increase.

Best in class cable modem
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Motorola - SURFboard DOCSIS 3.0 High-Speed Cable Modem is a best in class cable modem. This one replaces an older Motorola SurfBoard SB-4200 model that still works fine but is not DOCSIS 3.0 compliant. I have found that replacing the older cable modem results in higher throughput even without a change in service. This cable modem works great on Comcast. It was easy to install and worked well the first time. I have been happy with the reliability, performance, and compatibility of Motorola cable modems.

Solid modem - good documentation- simple hookup and activation ( comcast activation people were pleasant) then configured a wireless router---15 minutes tops. No more paying rent for modem that was End of Service listed 2 years ago!!. Wish I would have done this last year
